Does anyone have an awesome egg bake recipe?
For dd's second birthday party next week we're doing brunch - I was thinking of making egg bake, buying some cinnamon rolls (hopefully my local bakery will make them, I don't want to do it myself.....) and fresh fruit
but I can't seem to find a great egg bake recipe....
I'm thinking of doing this menu instead of the standard Australian brunch meal of egg & bacon sandwiches or can you guys think of something else that would be better for a menu? I just want something that's easy to eat on a plate you're holding - as people will be wandering around & sitting on sofas & keeping an eye on toddlers

Not sure exactly what you mean by an egg bake recipe? We often just throw beaten eggs with a splash of milk, and a jumble of other ingredients into a savory pie crust and call it quiche. Our favorite ingredients include bacon and cheese but you could really put just about anything in it that you would put in an omelet. Bake until the eggs are cooked through, slice and serve.

no - not a quiche - maybe this is a MN thing? (egg bake) my aunt use to make this one - in a big rectangle pan - with bread on the bottom, broccoli, cheese, bacon, etc - can't remember exactly but you cut it up in squares to eat it's different to a quiche - no pastry and not in a pie tin hmmmm I may ask that aunt if she still has that recipe....

Hi! We did a brunch at our house, and I used this recipe to make individual egg casseroles in ramekins. You could probably do a big one though if you're serving a lot of people! I did half and half - some veggie and some with bacon. They were delicious and super quick and easy to put together!
or make it up in muffin tins if you don't have ramekins! neat little pinterest trick I learned. perfect for individual servings (and you can have various ingredients this way....for vegetarians, dairy free...etc).
My stepmom used ti do what she called an oven omelet. A layer of bacin, then cheese, then egg mixture and fibush off with more cheese in top. It was always really good, so that's another thing you can Google.

Yes, my family calls it breakfast casserole, too. I was confused by the term egg bake. :-) You can't really go wrong as long as you cook it long enough - just throw in bread and top it with a batter of eggs, cheese, sausage/bacon, veggies of your choice, salt/pepper, and we always throw in a bit of mustard.
I think if you put in too much milk/cream then it could end up too runny, but otherwise it's a free-for-all in terms of ingredients and amounts.

I have a good recipe for overnight french toast. Great because you prepare the night before and then stick it into the oven the next morning when your ready.
