today's my first day back to work after 3 weeks in the US, so I'm exhausted already! It's nice to be back in my own house but gosh do I miss my family!! and toddler jet lag is super fun too - I hope these 4am chats cease soon! My in-laws arrive tomorrow to stay for a week for dd's b-day, nice - but I feel a bit overwhelmed about it all since I haven't finished tidying my house up yet since I only got back a few days ago!! oh well
QOTD: no plans for the 4th since dd's b-day is the 5th we'll really just celebrate that
We have a party at my BILs place on Saturday, but aside from that, I think we will just have several dinners out to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary.
QOTD: Nope, not celebrating the 4th this year. Our anniversary is the 3rd so we are focusing more on that. Last year we did do a big picnic but I feel like the 4th fell on a weekend last year?
We had a busyyyy weekend. On Friday night we met H's cousin from the US who was visiting Amsterdam. On Saturday I went (early *ss) to my party's convention and right when I got home around 7.30pm we had my F and SM over for the weekend. We spent the whole weekend sight-seeing and drinking wine with them. Lots of cooking but also lots of fun. Now I am trying to tidy up the house quickly, work a bit and then go to a political meeting again.
QOTD: We are celebrating the fourth with H's coworker who loves everything American. Just easy BBQ with burgers and fixings. I am excited though!
The most fun thing I have planned this week is getting out of the hospital. It hadn't even occured to me that the 4th is also happenning.
I hope you get out soon!
Morning! Today I have to go to the bank, try to figure out our car insurance, and buy groceries. A thrilling day to be sure.
QOTD: Probably nothing. We thought about grilling something on our raclette on our balcony, but with my aversions to sausages and most meats at the moment I doubt that will happen.

Morning!
Not much going on here....exhausted and just trying to get through the day at work! Nothing too exciting planning this week - just teaching Zumba and hopefully hitting up Happy Hour on Thursday!
QOTD: No plans. My DH gets home from the US that evening, so I'll pick him up at the airport, and we'll probably just relax once he arrives and eat dinner at home.

Had a way too-short weekend. But, I did discover a playgroup that starts up in August that I think W will enjoy. It's a language play group, so there's one in German, one in English and one in French. We're going to do the German and English one and maybe add the French one later. And it's only a few minute walk from my apartment. Oh, and my H was offered a job in another city, but I'm not sure if we're going to do that. We're at a crossroads right now and I'm curious to see how it all plays out. I don't have too much of a worry where we end up (or if we stay), but I just don't want to go back to the states at all.
QOTD: My H will be out of town so we're doing a small 7/4 thing this evening. I bought W a cute shirt and he wore it yesterday. We don't really know any other Americans here anymore.
Hi. I'm heading up to my parent's house today. My mom has 3 days off. Since I have some free time I decided to go up for a little bit. I also sent my new laptop there. So hopefully I will be opening that up tonight!!
The US Women's Open is actually this coming weekend at my hometown. The course is actually across the street and down the ravine from my parent's. Practice tickets are $15 bucks. So I might head down there and check it out.
QOTD: I'm going up to the village I grew up in. They have a nice little fireworks show and a band playing Sousa all evening. Lots of families and a nice atmosphere. H could of came but complained about the drive and I said whatever I'm going. His loss. If I stayed down in Chicago we would of probably done nothing so :/
This is my first 4th celebrated in the US in three years. I'm so excited!
I totally forgot about the 4th too. And actually, this is my brother's 1-year wedding anniversary. I'm horrible! No plans for the 4th, I'm still super, duper pregnant sick and exhausted all the time so no plans ever to do anything. I was in the states for the 4th last year and I think it's a holiday that really doesn't travel well - I miss fireworks! And sunshine...
Doing well. This week is going to be busy. Wednesday we fly to Amsterdam to look for an apartment, I think we have 10 appointments that day (in/out the same day). Thursday, we have a baby doctor appointment, I hope to find out the sex that day. Friday, we leave for the US for 10 days (6am flight, yawn).
QOTD: No plans for the 4th...I hope to get some 4th of July food next weekend when we are in the States.

Morning! I agree that putting a date in the title is a good idea. This week my BFF is in town, so we'll be seeing her this afternoon and at least once more this week. Then my mom is taking Friday off to play babysitter so DH and I can have a day to ourselves. She asked us what we were planning, and we were like... um, absolutely nothing? We'll probably take a leisurely walk around the mall (DH likes to shop more than I do, although that's not saying much!), maybe hit a movie, and try a Persian restaurant that just opened. Otherwise today I'm trying to get a little work done and am enjoying stirring up a little drama on 1st tri on TB, where it has been very boring lately. Actually someone else started it, but I agree with her, so whatever.
QOTD: We'll probably have a few family friends over. Nothing big. All the fireworks start long after DD's bedtime, so I'm not sure whether we'll get to any this year.
BFP1: DD born April 2011 at 34w1d via unplanned c/s due to HELLP, DVT 1 week PP
BFP2: 3/18/12, blighted ovum, natural m/c @ 7w4d
BFP3: DD2 born Feb 2013 at 38w3d via unplanned RCS due to uterine dehiscence
I am great now that the heat has died down a bit, but trying to figure out why I keep having bad headaches in the afternoon.
QOTD: Nothing. I would, because I like BBQing and all that, but I have no idea where any other people who celebrate that are in Lisbon currently. Of the multiple nationalities I know here, none is American, I just realised (not even Canadian!).
