I would try it, for sure. The risotto with sea bass sounds good. I'd order that with a bottle of good wine, so if the dirt entree turned out to taste like, well... dirt, then at least I could get a little drunk.
Plus, think of all the trace minerals you're getting! And immunity-building, to boot!
I would love to know how they're preparing the dirt. Are they putting seasoning in to it or roasting it or something like that. I can't believe it's just a pile of dirt on your plate.
I know eating dirt isn't bad for you per se but I'm getting caught up on eating large quantities. It just feels like it would make your stomach hurt.
ETA: I have had different bugs before and they're actually pretty good.
I'm not opposed to you trying it, just trying to give reasons, based on my experience, why you might not want to. And why I won't be doing it again. My mother gave me the same warnings, and I tried the dirt anyway, so there you go. Who knows, there is probably quite a range of dirt flavors and maybe not all of them are as awful as the one I tasted.
I wonder if you can order a flight of dirt to explore the varying flavors.
This I would actually try I think. IMO dirt doesn't taste good and the texture is horrible, but I would explore the different flavors. I have no desire to have it as an added flavor in food (I don't think, I guess I shouldn't say that until I've tried it). @misoangry I'm really surprised you've never tasted dirt before, I kind of thought that was something everyone did as a kid.

good point. I'm also going to stop eating every food that exists, touching anything, breathing air, drinking water, and wiping my ass after I shit. Just because I can do those things in the presence of bacteria does not mean I should.

Hylio bacter pylori thrives in the soil around here. So much so we have areas sectioned off with signs warning people to stay away. It isn't even particularly dangerous, except when it does produce symptoms, it greatly increases your chances of gastrointestinal cancer and lymphatic cancers. Yes, eating dirt is a bad idea and while you can do it, you probably shouldn't.
This can not be "healthy." Dirt, even the cleanest dirt, has micro organisms that are not meant to be in your body. Also, bug eggs. Ugh.
That was my concern too. If it was heated to ensure it was free of pathogens I'd give it a try. I could see it used as a garnish, sprinkled on soup, etc.
