I see all processed food and packaged goods as TOXIC now...there's no way I can go back to eating most of that stuff. Things like dried beans, quinoa, occasional (quality cheese), etc...I think there is room for those things on occasion. I prefer eating like this, though. It does suck to be "that person" when eating out, though...I have mostly avoided it, but there will be times...
I'm not doing well at all with being Whole30 compliant. The second week in is when ZB went into the hospital and I held on but the day after she died, my dog died and I was a wreck. I spent a lot of time working on the crane display for her memorial. I've gotten back on the wagon a little bit. I'm still having dairy in my coffee in the morning. It's a comfort and a crutch and I know that, but given I didn't want to get out of bed at all I did reward myself with cream in my coffee. The rest of my meals, snacks, etc. have been compliant. I got the ingredients to make compliant coffee creamer so once I do that, I should be 100%. I decided to go with 'good enough' instead of 'perfect.' Hopefully I'll get my legs underneath me again and do the 30 days.

I can't believe I lost 10 pounds in 30 days. In all fairness, it was the 10 pounds I gained post knee surgery (mostly due to non activity and a little laziness and an eat-whatever-whenever-I-don't-give-a-damn type of attitude), but it feels *so* good to be back in my normal comfort zone.
I am going to splurge on a nice glass of red wine this weekend. And relax on the alternative sugar restrictions a little bit. Although, I am still not over my sugar cravings and I'm still trying hard to resist the after dinner cravings. It will be a delicate balance, that's for sure.
I think I'm going to try eating paleo 90% of the time and see how it goes. I have brunch plans on Saturday with a friend and I will probably try the gluten free pancakes w/ real maple syrup to keep it paleo... but I may be tempted lol. We'll see! I think I may like some of the paleo-fied foods, but it makes me wonder if its worth it to bend the "rules" that much vs just normal (but clean) eating.
I have noticed a few changes with my body's reaction to, um, the way it processes food. I may slowly re-integrate foods and see how my body reacts. I'm not sure! We'll see how it goes!
Oh, and I am excited to start my post workout protein shakes again. I missed those things!
So I have three days left - and I'm getting on an airplane to go visit my 93 year old grandmother for 4 days then dh and I are going on a cruise. This outta be fun trying to explain to her about why I'm eating like I am. I'm bringing the book and I packed snacks so maybe I won't feel so awful eating on the cruise ship especially.
Btw I feel really good. I'm finally starting to see some changes in my waist area. I didn't really have any weight to lose when this started I just wanted to tone up and I think I am! Yay!
Last day girls!! What's your first splurge going to be tomorrow or what was it? Or are you going to try to "continue" and not splurge? How do you plan to eat after this is all done?

I eat this way (+ chocolate and wine) every day anyways. So yeah, not much different. This is just something I do as a reset when I've indulged too much.
