Today is dd's 2nd birthday - YAY! I'm happy my ILs are in town so she can be home with them today (I'm working). I left them cupcakes to have at tea time. Just picked up the ingredients to make a cake for her to bring to daycare tomorrow too and her party is this weekend - should be fun.

I'm not bad. I have all the paperwork for my permanent resident visa completed and as soon as DH gets home with copies of his passport, we are off to mail it. Fingers crossed the process goes smoothly.
QOTD: It's a bit chilly, but thankfully sunny here. I have been suffering with the grey dreary, wet days for about a month now. I am really excited about all the sunshine streaming in through the windows. If only it were slightly warmer, I'd be happy.
Hello! Tomorrow is my last day of work for 6 weeks...thank god I need a break . Today I work all day, going for a run when I get home and doing laundry, exciting!
QOTD: it looks overcast and warm now, but I think it's supposed to rain.
I was trying to tget home from work (with a car full of groceries) and the ONLY road up the mountain was closed because some ass couldn't make it up the mountain without crashing his effing car. It really isn't that bad of a road either. The speed limit is 60 kmh and in Europe this would easily be a 90 kmh road. H got an earful while eI had to sit and wait for an hour!
Apparently you can take the girl out of DC but you can't take DC out of the girl. Do NOT mess with a Washintonians commute damnit!
QOTD: It is (according to the car thermometer) 26 C at the bottom of the mountain and 21 at the top.
Rough day yesterday....UK ladies have probably seen the news of the RAF crash in Scotland on Tuesday, and that was my old squadron where I know a lot of people, and is the same type of jet that I still fly. So it has been a sh*tty week. Ts&Ps would be appreciated for the one crew member in critical condition in the hospital, the two who are still unaccounted for, and the families of all 4....
The weather today is supposed to be pretty bad. I think they said 2 months worth or rain in one day? Yuck.
Today, tomorrow, amd a half day next Thurs and we are DONE with school until Sept. I can't believe we survived this hellish year!
Weather today will be in the 20's (c) and overcast. There is a neighborhood BBQ in a grass field this Sat so I hope we don't get rain-rain before then. A drizzle-rain is fine. The thought of tromping around in mud balancing a solo cup on the edge of a soggy paper plate is not a happy one.
We had a great 4th BBQ yesterday and the weather is still sunny today! Yayyyy. I am supposed to do a lot of dissertation work but also a lot of errands so we'll see. Hope to go for a run too. Two more days until we can go pick up kitty. I am ridiculously excited.
QOTD: sunny and warm (according to forecast will turn into rain today )
We had a great bbq for the fourth, and I now have lots of pulled pork bbq in my freezer. Everyone seemed to have a good time, there was plenty of food, and my fridge still has various deserts left. Now to get back to working on my tranlsation.
QOTD: It´s sunny, probably about 24 degrees, and very muggy.
Tired and trying to get ahead on school work before my friend comes next week. The hot water heater is broken and I couldn't sleep last night since who knows what the repair guy is going to tell us today. Hope it doesn't turn into an expensive problem!
Ts&Ps would be appreciated for the one crew member in critical condition in the hospital, the two who are still unaccounted for, and the families of all 4....
Absolutely.
It's miserable. Every day. For months now. This summer is killing me.
I'm great today. I had an appointment yesterday at the High Risk Clinic and they released me and said I should just treat this as a normal pregnancy from here on out! They're going to see me in a month just to make sure but I can exercise again! And have sex! If I ever have any energy or stop throwing up long enough for either... It's just amazing to have a good appointment for once :-)
I don't really have any plans today, but the weather has been good today! It's 22° right now and mostly sunny (i.e. partly cloudy). Tomorrow it's supposed to get up to 27!
These are probably going to be our only two days of summer this month, because the forecast says rain all day Saturday, and rain every day for the next 4 days after. So I will enjoy the weather while it lasts!

Morning! My BFF is coming over in a few minutes for our last visit before she heads back to Seattle. It'll probably be another several years before we see each other again.
QOTD: We've had an extreme heat advisory since yesterday going until Saturday. Today the temp is supposed to be over 100F (37C) with a heat index of 115F or something crazy like that. We're staying inside. :-)

Hi everyone, well it's warm and sunny back in Croatia where I will be for a few days before we head back to DC. From what I hear, DC has had a freak storm and a bunch of people I know have been without power for about a week. Ugh.
Egypt has been fantastic weather-wise, 34-36 C everyday with beautiful seas and not a cloud in the sky. With plenty of sunscreen, I managed to not even get burned. We went to the Sahara as well and did a desert safari. That was hotter than a camel's backside but we expected it.
Honestly the heat and humidity in the DC metro which I am long accustomed to, has made the Egyptian dry desert heat a walk in the park. I thought it would be more intense than it actually was. (Don't get me wrong, it was still intense).
Well I was suppose to head back to Chicago today but a part might not get here in time today. So another night at my parent's. Not the worse case since I don't need to be back in Chicago by today but H misses me. Haha. But he doesn't get home till 11pm so it would of been a lonely hot day at the apartment.
QOTD: Like Crimson it is hot here too. I'm kind of glad I might not be driving back to Chicago because it's even hotter there. I wanted to spend my time at my parent's reading outside... Haha wasn't going to happen.
