How is everyone today? What is on the agenda?

QOTD: The Oscar Best Picture films were announced last Thursday! :-) Have you seen any of the films? If not, do you have any plans to watch all of them before the Oscars?

Good afternoon! I'm not too bad today. I woke up early and got my dessert done (homemade chocolate pudding), and dinner is just waiting for DH to get home (rice & bean tacos). I talked to my Mom to get her opinion on the current US Senator from Louisiana who announced he is running for Governor next year -- very strange, IMO, and hers. But then he's a strange man. I dealt with him frequently when he was "of counsel" at a law firm my firm did a lot of work with. I tried to go to a needle craft store, only to find it has closed, so my embroidery work on my cousin's son's Christmas stocking will have to wait until after Feb. 1 when I can go to the hobby store in Melbourne.

QOTD: I haven't even seen the list, so I can't answer this question. I'm willing to bet the answer is no I have not seen them, but I honestly do not know.

Morning!! :-) I'm glad we're getting closer to the weekend!

Today is another busy day as usual! Work all day, then heading off to teach Zumba. I may meet up with a friend for her birthday, but we'll see how I'm feeling later this evening!!

QOTD: So in the US, AMC theatres does a Best Picture showcase where they show all the movies in 1 day (now 2 days since there are up to 10). Anyway, since we aren't in the US, we do our own version and we're watching 2 films every weekend for the next few Saturdays. I've only seen Captain Phillips so far, so I'm looking forward to seeing the rest!

I thought about seeing Philomena, but heard that it's really anti-Catholic and I'm not sure how I feel about that.  I love Judy Dench though, so I really have to think about it.  I've never heard of the rest of them so I'd have to Google them all.

It's not a nominee, but DH and I may go see Saving Mr. Banks this weekend.

Morning! I know I've missed the last few daily check-ins, but I'm glad to see that they're back and hope to participate more.

Not much going on today. I'm going to attempt to take my kitty to open surgery hours at the vet this morning, if I can manage to get her in her cage by myself (my pregnant belly won't make that very easy). It's just for eye discharge, so if I can't manage it today I can try again tomorrow :-) Otherwise, it's been a sow week at work, which is good for catching up on all of the stuff I have to do.

QOTD: I have only seen one of those films (Gravity) and I thought it was okay. The visual effects were good, but I don't know that it's necessarily "best picture" quality. We'd like to see a few more of those films (Capt Phillips, 12 Years a Slave)….but several of those I haven't even heard of (Dallas Buyers Club? Nebraska?).

Good morning! Another dark day here. I have to send out some emails and work on my articles. Actually a laid back day with plenty of time for each task but I'm lacking motivation. I am still in bed with a cup of coffee. Tonight I am going to Alanon.

QOTD: I have seen Gravity and 12 years a slave. Hated Gravity and loved 12 years. This weekend we plan to watch American Hustle and Captain Phillips. I also really want to ee Philomena.
