So, I've been ridiculously MIA for months...probably since we moved home to the US. But, I've thought about you all often, and miss interacting with you all! How is everyone? Any new babies, new jobs, new moves? I try to keep up with those of you I'm friends with on FB, but as far as GBCN, I've been negligent.
Everything is good over in the US. Even though we've been home for over nine months, I'm still struggling with being back in the US. I miss living abroad and our life there, but there are a lot of really good things about being home as well. It's a catch 22, really. Work has been insane, but I love my job here and feel so much more fulfilled in my career. DH is doing really well also, and is in a much better place with work/life balance. Lily (the beast of a cat) did great with the move, and we also got two new kittens back in August (not really kittens any longer, they're fatties).
Anyways...I hope to be around more now that life has sort of settled down, but wanted to post on here since it's been awhile. Hope everything is going well with you all!

@wise_rita - I'm down 32.5 pounds! Losing weight is so much easier (for me) when I'm back in the US...I think it's because there's not as much yummy bread and cheese to eat on the cheap like back in the NL! How about you??

Ha, so you're saying the food sucks in America and that's helping you? Makes sense, though. Living overseas can feel like a holiday or "this doesn't really count" so you might be best to maintain a healthy lifestyle at home!
Welcome 'home'! I didn't know you were back in IN. I would have met up with you!
It seems like we have a lot more job options in the US, so I'm glad to hear that is working out for you. I have a neat job in Dubai now, but my H is doing a telecommute thing and his schedule is mostly US, kind of sucks for him. I'm glad he was supportive of me coming here though.
Yeah, and the work/life balance is not the same here... Being physically present is much more important here. In the US I could flex more and WFH more. I guess I expected that going in, but I didn't realize how much I valued that.

Crockpots of Velveeta and Rotel don't do it for you?
brit - yeah...it's amazing how freaking fat I got once I moved to Europe!! Are you leaving CBus and living abroad again??
I moved to Dubai in October for three years, or maybe more if it makes sense at that point.
Have you tried the Cobb salad at Joe Willy's yet? Best salad in town! I kind of miss it.
OMG, color me jealous! DUBAI?!?!? I am so stinking jealous! No cobb salad yet from Joe Willy's...I switched to a vegetarian diet about a year ago, so don't eat meat. I assume it has meat on it...sadness. Maybe I could have them do beans!
