of things I should have DH buy while he's in the UK. He's in Southampton for 12 days on business. I need some shampoo desperately, so he'll be making a trip to the store for that and I'm wondering if you have any other recommendations for food, beauty/personal hygiene, or other products that would travel ok. I haven't been to the U.S. in forever and this is my opportunity to get some fun imported foods and such. Also, if anyone knows of a good clarifying shampoo that he could pick up for me that is pretty inexpensive that would be immensely helpful! I think I saw that there is an Herbal Essences one, is that available in the UK? And, anyone have a favorite Chai tea that is easy to find that they'd recommend.
Really love Tea Pigs tea and they make a Chai. Seems to be available in a lot of places in the UK.
For drugstore items I would suggest browsing Boots.co.uk and seeing what piques your interest. There are always Boots on the high street here.
Food: trying to think of what my sister flips for when she is here (she lives in Brazil). She mostly eats no grains and such so is always buying things like coconut oil and almond butter.
What do you miss? Cheese? Man, the cheese here is so good. Can you bring that back to China? I would totally get a little lunch box size soft cooler thing, throw an ice pack in it, and hit up the Marks & Spencer's cheese aisle. Cambazola, Manchego, camembert, pecorino... My sister told me she is going to attempt to take feta back to Brazil after he next Western Europe trip.
I'm trying to remember what sort of stuff I missed when we lived in Korea.
Microwave popcorn Crisps Garam masala or other spices you might not be able to get in HK? Lemon curd Cheese Any moisturisers or makeup that you can get in the UK without the extra, creepy 'skin whitening' chemicals Peanut butter Nutella
UK snack/food ideas are good, but I'll have DH check out the Tesco selection of imported stuff if he can get over there.
I can get PB here I can get some imported things here, it is just that the prices are so high that we're usually better off buying them when we're abroad when we can.
We actually have a few small M&S here, but the prices are higher than they are in the U.K. I love their cafe and their packaged foods.
What are the American things you miss? I can help work out what the UK equivalent would be! I'm a huge fan of Body shop items for pretty much everything makeup/cleansing related.
