I celebrated my birthday today by opening a Roth IRA! I started it with $3000 and I plan to have it maxed out by the end of the year. I know I'm behind for my age, but it's a start.
I'll be eligible for the 401k at my job (boooo, no match) next month!
Each month we have a set amount of money go into the savings. The rest of the money is fair game to spent but if it doesn't get spent by the end of the month, I have been transfering it into our savings. The past few months I have been transfering over $1,000 per month into our savings. We are going to open a 529 account as soon as this baby is born and we get his SS#. We didn't start our son's until he was 1 so it will feel good to get a headstart on this one.
I paid off my credit cards which I started snowballing in Oct. 2009. The final payment went through at the beginning of this month. I keep looking it up online just to see the zero balance.

Our CC debt is below $1500 for the first time in a loooooong time. I wish this were a, "Paid off of CC!" AW...but we're on track to have it paid off in July and I can't wait!!!
Also, we have managed to stay on track with saving enough for all DH's OOT family trips, weddings, etc that are coming up...while still taking major chunks out of the CC bill every month.
