She used to live with some neighbors, but they moved and just left her on the street. It was about 6 months later when we realized what had happened and took her in.
That is awesome! She is clearly a lucky girl. . I will never understand how someone can do what your neighbors did. We have taken in a couple of strays also, and one semi-feral last year (who is now the most affectionate cat I have ever seen).
This is my beagle, Finn. We adopted him almost 3 years ago, and he's approximately 5 years old.
He was found wandering along a road in Kentucky and was placed in a high-kill shelter down there. He got moved onto doggy death row and was only a month away from being euthanized, when he got rescued by a beagle rescue organization in NJ. He was then placed into foster care for 3 months, and then he was matched to us ;D
He's a wonderful dog and gets along so well with DS!
My baby Shiver. with FI's (ok now "our") dog, Koda
she gets scared and hides when we open the windows, was scared of the outside, but likes it now (note she was a barn kitten we got at 3 weeks old)
she purrs when you feed her and is into everything.
she attacks everything, even as a .7 lb 3 week old kitten walked right up to the dog. she thinks the dog's tail is a toy, and she demolished the dog's ducky, something even the dog couldn't manage to do, and Koda destroys every toy we buy her.

We have two puggles (pug beagle mixes) named Paisley and Clover. P was mine before I met DH, and C was our wedding gift to each other. We love them to teensy tiny pieces, and they are absolutely our babies.
