Mine was busy...sort of. It's been me and DS since Tuesday night. STBX went to bed early on Tuesday because he felt like he was getting sick and he's been in bed ever since. He's still there as we speak. He did get the flu, but his fever broke and he's still laying in bed like he's dying. His parents came by while I was at work on Thursday and brought him wonderbread and pudding cups.
They came back, unannounced, on Saturday evening. I was outside shoveling the driveway (getting rid of all the ice and shit that was left since STBX didn't shovel the last few snows) when they pulled up. Walked right in to the house with bags of stuff and didn't say a word to me. LOL. I got the area around my car cleaned up (left STBX's encased in ice) and went inside. I checked on DS and went upstairs. They fed STBX some wonton soup and fruit cups. At one point I heard his mom ask if he needed help getting to the bathroom. OMFG. As soon as they left, he went back up to bed and has been there ever since.
Yeah, keep reminding me why I'm leaving again crazy people.

That is so pathetic Chirp. You're a grown ass man!
My weekend was wonderful, even if I slept like crap last night.
I have this vision. I want to put a penny floor in my bathroom. It's small, so I don't think it would be a huge pain in the ass. But I figure I need to start collecting pennies and putting them on wire mesh now if I'm ever going to finish.
While doing more research, I realized my dream might be more expensive then I thought. I love the really glossy look that you get with sealing the whole floor with epoxy. But that much epoxy is $$. But it's a bathroom and the epoxy will make everything water tight. But finishing it like you would tile is just as good as a normal tile floor anyway. ::sigh:: I've been bouncing the pros and cons all weekend.
If anyone wants to donate any pennies to my project, I'd gladly take them
Oh ew. I'm sorry you have a germy lump in your house and that he learned his car-clearing manners from his lovely parents.
I said earlier this weekend that I was starting to like the psychiatrist, but when stbxh came and got all of his stuff and cleared out space in my place, I suddenly didn't care so much. Which is good because the psychiatrist texted me last night that he reconnected with an ex and they're going to date. Good luck with that dude! Onwards and upwards for me. I have 4 dates this week, 2 repeats and 2 new. So I'm still just trying to have fun and not be serious.
Aw, it's the psychiatrists' loss tiramisu! Onward and upward indeed.
The weekend was great for me and the kids, not so great for the dog (we have to put medicine dangerously close to his ass) but the weather was great. Even though it was busy, it was pretty relaxed.
I do have a divorce update if anyone is interested...
I applied for an apartment on Friday. I got it. I go to sign the lease tomorrow. DS and I move in on March 28th. Woohoo!! It's ground floor (I'm a klutz, I hate stairs), has a full washer/dryer in the apartment, 2 bedroom, 2 bath. The living room is huge, so I can put living room furniture and a small table and chairs in there and DS can use the dining room for a play room. Oh, and they're painting some of the walls for me (like, actual colors that I got to pick out) for me for no charge.
I'm dropping off a ton of paperwork and the signed divorce petition with my lawyer today. I should have the rest of the retainer together by tomorrow, so I'll run back out tomorrow and pay that.
Now that I have a solid moving date... I have so much shit I need to buy. STBX is keeping almost everything. I'm good with it. The furniture we have sucks. He can have it. I'm emptying the kitchen, taking all of my stuff, taking DS' bookshelf and books, half of his clothes and half of his toys. So I need to buy beds, dressers, living room stuff, toy storage crap, linens, more clothes for DS... OMG. Ikea and Target, here I come.
Chirp so exciting! And over whelming There is nothing wrong with starting out with mattresses on the floor. You'll get there.
It is overwhelming. But my boss is awesome. She knows about the divorce and that I'm moving and need to buy a ton of shit. She hooked me up with my bonus. And told me to make sure I file before March 7th. I love my boss. She rocks.
That's the day the bonus checks come out. As long as I file before the checks are cut, he's entitled to none of it. If I don't, he's entitled to half.
OMG, guise, he just texted me. "Can you call the doctor and ask them what I can do about this cough". Um... call them yourself or have your mommy do it. Gawd.

My weekend was really good - H and I had a coffee date on Saturday and although it took us ALL DAY LONG, we finally decided on a rental cabin in the Smokey's for our week vacation in April. Woot! It has a stream so he can trout fish right behind the property, a hot tub, a nice fire place and is on a 24 acre land parcel. It's about 6 hours from us, so it's a bit of a drive, but we got the 5th night free and will stay 6d/5nights with the dogs. Lots of hiking around there too. I am so looking forward to getting away with just him and the peace and quiet.

You have to be shitting me.
Nope, not shitting you. Here was the full text...
STBX: Can you do me a favor? Me: Maybe STBX: Can you call the dr and ask if there is anything that can be done with this cough. It is not getting better and it hurts. Me: Um... they're gonna have to talk to you and you're gonna have to get out of bed and go in. They won't prescribe shit over the phone.
Sounds like my honeymoon doglove. You're going to have so much fun!
I know, I can't wait. We really need this. It's been since our honeymoon 1.5 years ago that we've had a trip together that doesn't include our family, but is everything we enjoy doing (reading, hiking, fishing, playing games, etc.)
I'm sorry, tiramisu, but it sounds like you're okay with it.
Yay, @chirp! I bet that feels great. Let us know if you find some good deals!
I was going for a walk with my dad yesterday and we came across a small dining room set with four chairs, just sitting in someone's driveway. My dad said "hey..want to see if these are for sale, since you need a table?" So we knocked on the door, and turns out they were giving them away for FREE. YESSSS new dining room set for me! It's a tiny bit bigger than I would like, but for now, they'll work well.
