Oh, another question. What are hospice and charity shops? I thought they were like Goodwill or Salvation Army but they seem much nicer than those. The items almost look new.

They are like goodwill but I agree they seem nicer for some reason
They are the same concept as goodwill but depending on the neighbourhood, they can be fantastic - I get tons of stuff at our local charity shops. The volunteers actually go through all the items and won't sell anything that's in terrible shape.

The charity shops also sometimes sell new items that are donated by other stores - so if a small shop is shutting, they can help their tax stuff if they donate to a local charity shop. Or they'll sell branded items that they get a nice percentage to sell. But yes, I do like shopping in charity shops - much more so than the US ones.
