Remember me? I've been popping in very sporadically. Really sporadically. Silly job and life getting in the way.
Anyways, add me to the pregnant H&Fer list I am about 17 weeks (!!!), due in August. Everything is good so far. First trimester kicked my butt, but I am less tired and generally feeling better now. And no, I am not the pregnant marathoner.
However, I am still running the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler in April. Actually, I used baby sneakers and a Cherry Blossom registration that had both my info and baby's info (Name: TBA, Gender: unknown, Age on race day: 20 weeks, Estimated finish: my due date). I signed up for the lottery, found out I was pregnant, and of course I got picked. Such is life, right? I am glad I didn't try to train for anything longer than 10 miles. Cherry Blossom is enough to keep me motivated, but it's not enough to take over my life or make me too tired. Plus this winter has been tough with all of the cold and snow. I can has spring please?
On the running front, I had to slow down immediately and adjust my goals. Goodbye, PRs and time goals. Hello, exercising for a healthy me, healthy baby, and healthy pregnancy. It's been nice to not have the pressure to run fast or meet a time goal. I'm looking forward to Cherry Blossom because I won't have pressure in the race, either. Go out, have fun, visit the porta potty 1000x, take pictures, and enjoy taking baby on his/her first race.
Hi, welcome back, and congrats! Seems like there has been a lot of H&F baby making action lately. You'll have to post a full race report (with pics) after Cherry Blossom!
Congrats!! That's awesome that you are still running races while pregnant. I know many women do it and I commend all of you. Running just doesn't feel good for me. Boo!
We may be due date twins. I'm due on the 21st of August.
