I wonder about animals. Do animal couples communicate like humans? When the male animal goes out to gather food does the female act like a SAHM or SAHW? Do they miss each other during the day? Hey give me a break, i am stuck at a work event and my mind is wandering .....
I've wondered this since I was a kid: do we all see colors the same, or is my green someone else's red, but we think they're the same because that's what we're taught.

I often wonder what people across the world from me are doing right now. As I'm sitting in my air conditioned office thinking of going to Starbucks what are people in the jungles of Africa doing?
I wonder if they think about what people in other countries are doing?

I think this all the time!!!
This is mine, too. It's interesting to see how many people thought the same weird thing. I thought I was on to something :::sad trombone:::
I also read once that people used to think tomatoes were poisonous and often wonder who had the courage to eat one, but I assume it was a matter of learning from other cultures. I could probably find the answer to this one on wiki.
Yes, some Americans and Europeans thought tomatoes were poisonous, mainly because they're related to nightshade which is actually poisonous. But the French also thought they were aphrodisiacs and called them "love apples."
I also wonder where everyone on the freeway is going right now. And what's playing on the radio. Are they sad about something? Are they going wherever they're going willingly, or they're going because they have to?
I think this too. In the middle of the day, why are there so many people on the road. Are they unemployed? Vacation day? SAH? WHY are there so many people out and about!!!
My latest obsession is what if the premise of the show "Revolution" were to actually come true? Would I have to grow my own livestock if I wanted meat? How would I keep up with the rest of my family, none of whom I live near? How am I going to cope at night, seeing as how I am afraid of the dark?
"Revolution" can also be replaced by anything having to do with the zombie apocalypse. I actually had to stop reading about the zombie apocalypse.
You mean could we be hit with an EMP (electromagnetic pulse)? Yes, absolutely. This is one disaster we are most certainly NOT prepared for, and one that could very easily happen.
Tho I do think those that are highest up in the government have equipment and vehicles that are safeguarded against them. But all it takes is one nuke set off in space over our country to literally wipe out our electronic infrastructure (the most basic explanation of what would happen).
If you're interested, do a search for EMP fiction. A lot of it is fantastic and explains really well what could happen. A couple of them are 'Lights Out' and 'One Second After'.
ETA Whoops, reading fail. I thought you said 'if the premise could come true'. Not what if. I often wonder what if about that. Heh. I read every book there is on EMPs. Well, every fiction book and a few survival books. First tip: Get a car that was made before 1982. It doesn't have any sort of computer in it and would not be affected by an EMP blast.
One Second After was a GREAT book. It really makes you think and realize just how dependant we are on electricity.
And kissing. Does touching lips together feel good because we've placed such importance on it? Or did we place such importance on it because it feels good?
I mean, if we told everyone in the world that touching toes together with a person you like is the first step in a sexual relationship, would it then give you butterflies like touching lips?
They think it has to do with the rampant nature of herpes. If a woman contracts herpes (even oral herpes guys) while she's pregnant, it likely results in miscarriage, complications, etc. By kissing before sex (ie, before pregnancy), she's trying to catch it before it can be an issue to a developing fetus.
I also wonder where everyone on the freeway is going right now. And what's playing on the radio. Are they sad about something? Are they going wherever they're going willingly, or they're going because they have to?
I think about this on trains and planes all the time.
I think about "crossing paths" a lot (for lack of a better word).
Like, H and I discovered that we used to hang out at the same bar, long ago before we met. I wonder if I sat at the bar next to my future husband 12 years ago and didn't even know it. I may have literally bumped into him on my way to the bathroom. Did we notice each other? I think it's just the coolest thing.
