We've decided on a name, but we're not sharing until she's born. (Partially for Jewish tradition, partially because people have too many opinions that I don't care about )

But I am SO excited it's a girl! I was positive she was a boy. When the tech was like, "That's the labia ... " I was like, DID YOU JUST TELL ME WHAT I THINK YOU JUST TOLD ME? I started laughing uncontrollably. It was ridiculous.

I told my BFF and parents when we were first deciding on names, and my parents threw a HISSY FIT about the girl name we chose. "WE BOTH KNOW PEOPLE WITH SIMILAR NAMES THAT WE DON'T LIKE." That's nice. Here's a person with that name that you CAN like.

What are your name choices, since they're not a secret?

Seriously! I feel like almost all of my friends have nothing but boys! 2014 is definitely Year of the Girl.

I know 8 people (who know the gender of their baby) all due between May and August, and 6 are having girls! Surely this means I am having a boy!

The names we like are:
Girl: Iris, Isla, Rose, Willa. Isla seems most likely. I have a small (like minuscule) hope he will come around to Pearl because I fucking love that name LOL!

Boy: Holden or Oliver. Not sure I like Oliver with our middle name (Edward after my dad) and our last name is an L so Holden would have HEL as initials so idk... But H dislikes all boys names and these are the only two he has ever found that he can stand.

OMG I LOVE ALL OF YOUR GIRL NAMES. "Isla" is so pretty!

"Pearl" is my bubby's name, so I can't fathom a child with that name I did, however, know a kid named Perla (Spanish for "Pearl") and thought that was really gorgeous. Maybe you could try that one on your hubs?

"HEL" as initials is either going to be rough or awesome, depending on the kid's personality. Oliver Edward sounds great, though! But I'll keep my fingers crossed that it's a girl so you can just go with "Isla" and not have to worry about boy names

I was green with bjl and I think it was perfect for our family. All our "gear" was neutral so we were able to easily reuse it, and that's the expensive stuff! If I had known we were having a girl I would've been completely broke for sure!

I actually like the boys' clothing better :x All their stuff has dinosaurs and robots and stuff! It's so awesome! All the girls' stuff is like, pretty pretty princess. I'm not into it

We did the name thing too, except that the actual name we chose didn't get used. Our babies were to be Emma & Grayson. Lol, they are Olivia & Kingston. H picked their names. I always wanted Halle & Grayson but it's whatev. The next baby we have will be named by me. If it's a girl, she'll be Halle. if it's a boy.. i'll go back to the drawing board! lol.

My husband offered, before we got married, that if I took his last name, I could have full reign over the kids' names. That wasn't a compromise I was willing to make, so we had to negotiate like CRAZY to agree on even one name for this baby. Hopefully the next one will be a little easier
