I can now see how this whole season has kind of been building to this. LOTS of Will/Alicia flashbacks, showing him taking the reins at the firm to make it great again, showing how good he is to his clients even when the case looks bleak....
I am really really going to miss him.
So many new storylines now. It has really turned things on its head

I was yelling at the tv and my poor cat was trying to comfort me.
I didn't want to believe it was him behind the curtain, but DH pointed out that it was the same shoes.
Previous poster was right, looking back, it becomes so obvious that this was going to happen. Just like splitting the firms, this really turns the stories upside down and gives a lot to explore.
I love this show. I'm happy to see MJF is coming back.

I still can't believe this happened.
I wanted them to get back together SO badly. TVLine said Josh Charles's favorite Will/Alicia scene hasn't aired yet, so at least it sounds like we'll get more flashbacks.

I think that it is sad that the will-they-or-won't-they of Alicia and Will is dead, although I have usually been Team Peter with this show (although the previews showed him kind of being an asshole). I am interested to see what this does to the relationships between Alicia and Kalinda and Alicia and Diane.

Did you see how gray Peter is now???
I actually don't think he was being an asshole. I think he was being honest. She made a commitment to Peter at the end of last season. Don't let Will's death make you question everything and throw away something that is good. Her new job, firm, marriage, etc.

I just watched & OMG. I didn't see it coming. Even when the defendant was eyeing the gun I thought he was just going to kill himself. I had no idea he'd open fire on the courtroom.

I do have to say that they did a great job keeping this under wraps! And I do appreciate that they had the opportunity to write him out this way (rather than, say, how SVU had to deal with Christopher Meloni leaving).
NO! I am in shock! DH heard the spoiler on the news Monday morning & kept taunting me all day.
I am surprised they were able to keep it quiet. I hate when it's public knowledge ahead of time.
I didn't even cry, which is surprising for me. Even though I have always been "Team Peter", the slight hope of Alicia & Will was part of the draw to the show.

I think it is going to be sadder next week. I am not sure if you watched scenes from the next episode (or well the rest of season 5) but it showed Alicia crumpling in Diane's arms. I think watching her grieve will be harder.

In an interview Josh Charles said that the most emotional Alicia and Will scene still hasn't aired. Whatever that scene is will probably be hard to watch.
