I look at it this way. Somewhere around 10% of the population requires an appendectomy and/or tonsillectomy and even more require gallbladder removal, but it would be poor medical judgment to remove a healthy appendix, tonsils or gallbladder. I don't understand why it is any different in this case.
This article also bothers me that it links uncirc parents to non-vax parents. Yes there is some overlap, but not all. Every uncirc person I know (irl, not in moms groups), are very pro vax.

The decision to circ or not may very well be upon us once we know if our baby has a penis or not. I'm in the non-circ camp right now, but I know that J will have an opinion since he was circumcised. I have a feeling that we won't circ, but it'll be a discussion hopefully based on fact and not emotion.
ETA: I just read the article and didn't like it. It seems like this guy is hell-bent on scaring parents into thinking that if they don't circumcise their boys that they will die of some penile disease. It's like cdmay said - it's healthy tissue that's there for a reason. If it wasn't meant to be there, it wouldn't. If you keep it clean and teach your son to do what needs to be done, this shouldn't be an issue. Also, if we do have a boy (and M), they'll be given the HPV vaccine anyway (see? Not all anti-circs are anti-vaxxers). Not to say that if a parent chooses to circ that it's a bad thing - not at all. It's a parent's choice. But just saying that the article doesn't do a good job being biased or giving good information about not circumcising.
