I remember watching Dr. Oz one time and he said not to have caffeine after 3pm. Now, I do love my morning coffee and don't go many days without it. But my days are busy and I sometimes wonder if an afternoon (between 3 and 4pm) coffee (or coke zero) would affect getting to sleep at night. Just curious if any of you do afternoon caffeine.

I do notice the effect if I have caffeine after about 4 pm. I can still fall asleep, but I don't feel as tired at night and lie in bed feeling pretty awake for a few minutes. I don't often let that stop me if I want to have a coffee (or am really struggling late afternoon) though.
I'll drink Diet Coke with dinner without issue, but then my caffeine consumption in general is kind of ridiculous. No coffee past early afternoon though.

We have a Starbucks on campus and I will sometimes go for an afternoon pick-me-up around 3pm. I don't usually go later than that. I haven't noticed it affecting my sleep.
I don't have any ill effects from an occasional coffee or soda in the evening. I only occassionally have any in the afternoons, and rarely in the evenings, but when I do I haven't noticed any difference.

I can drink coffee anytime. I will occasionally drink a hot coffee on my way home from masters at 9:30 pm. Get home, take a shower, read a book, fall asleep.
Very little (except my pest cat) can keep me awake at night.
Caffeine has no effect on me - I can drink it immediately before bed and fall asleep normally, and if I drink it when I'm exhausted it actually makes me more tired, if it's a hot drink. I don't drink it often though - maybe 2-3 times a week?

It depends honestly. Soda usually doesn't affect me, but if I have a coffee after 4 or 5pm I usually can't fall asleep or don't sleep as worse. But there are some days, especially during tax season, that I could chug coffee and still fall asleep at my desk.
I typically don't drink much caffeine in general. I'm ok having 1-2 glasses of unsweet tea with dinner til 8:30 pm with no effect. I can't do Diet Coke after 5:00.
The only caffeine I regularly have is morning coffee. I very occasionally have an unsweetened iced tea if I'm out for lunch. Absolutely no caffeine after 2 p.m. though or it affects my sleep and I already have massive sleep issues as it is.
I don't typically drink any caffiene after 9AM, but occaisionally I'll have a tea or a diet coke or something in the afternoon.
the only time I've noticed caffiene effecting my sleep is after drinking redbull vodkas. redbull gives me crazy, vivid dreams. but I haven't had a redbull vodka since college.
I can drink coffee or tea pretty much at any time. I did take one of those 5 hour energy things before a work out at 5pm a couple of weeks ago, and that seemed to keep me up. Even though it's supposed to only have as much caffeine as a cup of premium coffee. It could have just been a placebo affect. I think that was only my 3rd one I've ever drank before, so I'm not sure how they usually work.
I'll drink it into the evening. I drink way too much of it regularly to know when it does or doesn't affect me anymore. But I also sleep like crap most of the time, and I'm guessing my caffeine consumption is a large part of the reason.
Here's a weird fact: I've never had a cup of tea or coffee in my life. Not one. Ever. Not even herbal tea. I do occasionally have a sugar free red bull, and that seems to perk me up. Never had any trouble sleeping though.
