I love garlic. Especially roasted cloves smashed onto toast. My general rule is to double or triple the amount any recipe calls for. DH is onboard with this philosophy. This may be why we do not have many dinner guests. I fear that jarred garlic might exacerbate this problem.
LOL. Even today at DC someone asked when we would have #3 *-).
What are you thinking about #3 at this point in time? You and I can annoy everyone and obsess over it together....
I want three, but really do not if we should. Money is certainly something holding us back, and the un-certainty of our move. Plus, will 3 put us over the edge? Right now N clings to me and DH cna be with A, it is even.
Ain't no shame in using jarred garlic or powder. Yes, fresh is always best, but I understand people using the others. Garlic makes everything taste better!
And I'd rather eat jarred garlic than having someone cut their finger and have fingerbloodflakes in the food

Can I jump on this train too?
sure, the more the merrier....for this exclusive club and with the # of children we all have I suppose. lol.

I do worry about being outnumbered!! But, I still think we will love it. We will probably wait until Mia is 3 before we really evaluate it more. At that point, if theoretical baby does happen, M will have less than a year of daycare left so another baby in daycare wont break the bank. I really hope it happens for both of us.
I think we'll love it too, I do kinda secretly enjoy the chaos of a new baby in the house. I think we'll wait until we move, take a good look at our finances (I'll be out of work for a little while), see how our new environment is and go from there. Can't wait to see how it all works out for us. (kiss)
Just use the metal bowl trick to peel your garlic! Fresh garlic is superior people.
I do not know this method. I just whack the side of the (big) chopping knife on top of the clove- smashing it- and the peel comes right off. Peeling garlic has never been on the list of things that take too much time for me? And garlic powder DOES taste different. Bleh. Fresh for lyfe!

If I'm only doing a few cloves that's the method I use. But if I'm using a ton, I put the cloves between two nesting metal bowls and shake the crap out of them. The peel comes right off. I think Martha taught me that.

Reading through this whole garlic thing, I thought people were referring to a specific brand of garlic called Jarred that I was reading as if it was Jared - like the guy from Subway, as opposed to garlic that comes in a jar. The whole time thinking 'I'm ok, I don't use Jarred brand garlic" **Reading fail** LOL
ETA: I DO use garlic that comes in a jar, so I guess I better go back and re-read about whether or not there is formaldahyde!

I hate that "skinny jeans" exist for toddlers and that its really the ONLY thing you can buy nowadays. My toddler is not skinny or lean. She still has chunk to her and therefore, I can never buy cute little pants for her.
I cant wait for shorts & skirt season so we dont have to worry about stuff fitting and buttoning. Elastic waist forever!!!

Gap has bootcut jeans for toddlers, but they do have the regular waistband with button. I prefer elastic waist too.
We've tried those. I feel like the stupid waist is so tight on her becuase she has a belly. They fit but I feel bad when she sits becuase it cuts into her belly.

You are not alone... it took me a bit to realize this as well... *-)

I have one cyllindrical child and one spherical child. The cyllindrical child is very tall and does well with ON jeans with the inside button. The spherical child can't wear jeans

rubber pants Kohl's and ON have different jean shapes for toddlers.
We do have on pair of ON jeans that are decent. TCP also has ONE pair that we stock up on. Its lightweight wide leg, jean fabric with an elastic waist. BEST INVENTION EVER. Looks like "jeans" but kind of arent.
@rubberpants there is a little girl in one of A's playdates that wears boy's pants and she always loks so cute. I think that everything is so fitted would bother me if I had a girl. I think fitted looks cute with long shirts but weird with normal length shirts.
I miss the dog park. It became a different place once the fence went up and people that have no control over their dogs started frequenting it.
I had my mother's wedding dress preserved when we found it in the flood. I had my best friend's preserved as well. Mine is hanging in a closet. I think if your dress is timeless your daughter verywell may wear it. I may have worn my mother's had it not been a pleated 80's monstrosity.

I really like skinny jeans on Evan. I was so disappointed when he grew out of his last pair and had to get another one. Unfortunately the new pair is too big for him right now.
I have no aspirations of either of my daughters wearing my wedding dress. I just hang onto it because I'm a hoarder. And it's still dirty in the dress bag after 7 1/2 years b/c I am a master procrastinator.
*whispers* I donated my dress to Goodwill because I procrastinated on getting it cleaned until right before we moved (it would've gone into long-term storage dirty).
I didn't itemize taxes back then so my parents (who were the ones who bought the dress) took the write-off.
Fenced in dog parks are a necessity for someone like me with a sight hound. My dog can run over 30 mph and needs a safe, open space for that. In addition, because she's a sight hound, anything that catches her eye she'll chase after. A rabbit or a leaf blowing on the breeze, boom, she's gone. If there is no fence, we'd never see her again. A fenced-in dog park is perfect for her, but I agree, some dog owners with aggressive dogs should rethink bringing their dogs to a place with other dogs and people.
And little kids at the dog park? No. Do not bring your toddler and let them mosey along while my dog is whipping by. It's not safe for the child or the dog.
