I also posted this on the Crafts board, but was wanting your feedback. I'm crocheting a lap afghan for my MIL for Christmas. I'm nearly finished (though I haven't woven in all my ends yet...sigh), but the idea is for it to be 40 rounds and 36" x 36" when finished.
Now...question. For those of you that crochet...how do I fix the middle so that it's not all wonky? Do I wash and block it??

I donĀ“t crochet, but there was just a similar question on the crafts board and the washing and blocking was suggested as a remedy. Totally impressed with your skillz!!
I was just about to ask what kind of yarn it was and there you've answered already! I don't crochet, but I knit and have dealt with wonkyness a little bit (mainly in twisted stitches and not the centre of things).
Is it that the stitches in the centre are a little askew? Could you try to straighten the centre stitches and see how that goes? It's a shame because it could throw off the edges, which look straight in the photo...
BTW, great work on it!! I don't have the patience to do something that big... I just knit baby cardis and sweaters and hats cos they are quicker! I mainly use organic cotton, so blocking won't work for my things either...

No, the stitches are a bit off. It's because you work in the round and not in rows. But, there was an awesome article on steam blockin on the crafts board, so I'm going to do that and hope for the best.
