I have a "glow in the dark" 5K on Saturday night. Between school and work I haven't been doing much speedwork at all. I will do my very best to make it a true "fun run" and learn to be okay with that.
Who else is racing this weekend (or fun-running)??

Me! I have the Clyde's 10k in Columbia. Perfect weather and it's supposed to be a fun event.
It's funny though, last year I saw them setting up for the race and I remember that I hadn't done a single race yet, and I thought to myself 'Maybe next year I'll be ready to do it!' Here I am, a year later- after 2 other 10ks, a few 5ks, a few random distances and a half, I think I'm ready!!
I am! I have the Austin 1020 on Sunday morning. I had a few bad weeks of runs before this week, I'm not sure that I tapered enough, and AF just arrived this morning, so I'm not sure if my A goal is going to happen at this point. It should be a fun race though!

I'm running a 10K with my mom. She's in town for my dissertation defense (Monday, ek!) and we thought this would be a good way to de-stress a little bit.
GW Parkway Classic 10-Miler on Sunday! OMG!! This is the last "training race" before my Half-Marathon in 3 weeks. Eek!
H is running this too. Until like an hour ago, we thought it was on Saturday. I happened to be looking at the website to plan the logistics of watching H race and noticed it said April 13. Whoops. So glad we didn't show up at Mount Vernon with kids in tow at 7AM tomorrow morning.
No races for me and I'm thrilled about it. Good luck everyone!!

This happened to me a couple of weeks ago with the Four Courts race, except in reverse. I thought it was Sunday and when I checked a few days in advance I realized it was on Saturday. Ooops!
I'll have to make new friends in the morning waiting around for the race to start. I've never done a race where you have to shuttle to the start before... I'm expecting a lot of hurry up and wait. Weather looks warm (too warm?) - low of 60!

Happy running, everyone! I'm doing a 10k obstacle course that I'm just trying not to think about. I know I'll have fun, but swimming through cold water that I have to put my head in to get under logs sounds...not fun. Also, I'm going with my husband. This could end our marriage but for some reason sounded better than going alone? Haha, we shall see!

Good luck all. I was supposed to do the iron girl half Sunday but have yoga TT all weekend. My friend is using my bib as she can't afford races now so I gave her mine. Is that bad to do?

I am supposed to run a 20 mile race on Sunday. My longest distance to date. Not sure if I'm going or not...been resting an injury all week and will test it out in a short run tomorrow.
UPDATE: This morning's "injury test run" went well--and I'm going to do the race! Wish me luck!
I am running a 10k on Sunday. I really hope I finish. Training has been sporadic with being sick. I am already slow so I hope I finish in time. Hilly but supposed to be a fun race. Good luck everyone!

Huh, I didn't know they did a race! That's my home town, though I moved a decade ago.
