I posted this a while back on a different board. Thought I would share here:)
I went to an AWESOME workshop the other night and wanted to share some of the resources I received that I thought were great! I love how it was geared towards school and home, and offered suggestions for parents to involve socialization at home!
The first thing I loved was the app reccomendations and reviews here:

Community (Friends)
Find fellow special needs families in your area for support, play dates for your child or social outings for teens and adults with disabilities. Simply fill out your family profile, then use Friends to find special needs families in your neighborhood. You can even share and do searches of your child's special interests to see if there is a match in your area.
Parents your profile includes a "need help" or "offer help" section. This allows all of us parents an easy way to help each other. Friends is simply the best way to reach out to fellow families in similar life situations.
About us
One Place for Special Needs is created and run by a mom of two special needs children. The goal is to create a wide reaching network of resources across the country. Families should not have to feel alone and without support when their child is diagnosed with a disability.
The Friendship Circle is today's fastest growing organization for children with special needs. With over 79 locations worldwide the Friendship Circle has cultivated friendships between 5,000 special children and close to 11,000 teen volunteers.
The Friendship Circle's unique approach brings together teenage volunteers and children with special needs for hours of fun and friendship. These shared experiences empower the children, our special friends, while enriching the lives of everyone involved.
Our special friends blossom and gain the confidence they need to make the most their abilities and talents.
Their teen volunteers learn the priceless value of giving, the curative power of friendship, and the vital importance of integrating children with special needs into our communities.
Their parents and siblings receive much-needed respite and support from the Friendship Circle community, and all those who assist us.
The Friendship Circle links volunteers, children, parents, staff, and supporters in a seamless circle of friendship that makes miracles happen every day.
