If I were the type to engage people like this I'd want to ask her how she reconciles the fact that "her" children in Africa are going to have to be vaccinated (if they aren't already, and I hope they are given that there is a measles outbreak in the country she's adopting from) before being allowed to enter the US.
Oh snap. I didn't know she was trying to adopt children from Africa. This lady just keeps getting better and better.
She's probably dumb enough to think that since the children are from some poor starving African country they didn't get any vaccines.

Well she also claims to be adopting twins who are the same age her twins at home. Which doesn't jive with the photos of her children on her facebook page (they don't appear to be the same age or even Irish twins.). So I'm thinking she may just have more truthiness issues than your average person.
Also while I put very little stock in the Congolese social welfare system I doubt they'd approve the adoption of twins under the age of three to a family with an existing set of twins of the same age.
And now I feel creepy for knowing all this when really I was just curious where she was adopting from. But that's what happens when you make your life/"life" an internet open book.

And her terrible article just popped up in my feed on facebook from a friend from college. The friend wrote about how well written the article is. I wrote that the woman is misrepresenting herself as a doctor and a lawyer, and if you need an advocate for non-vaxing they should use a source that is accurate in their credentials.

Did she really say she has twins at home? One of her kids was born in like May 2013 and the other was born at the end of 2011 or beginning of 2012 just by dates/comments on photos.
This is kind of a question too - I was under the impression that most countries have some pretty strict health criteria for adoptive parents, so I was wondering how she managed to get approved with her laundry list of health concerns that she "cured naturally".

There were some other comments that popped up before, but it looks like she may have deleted them or changed them to anonymous comments (ie they still show up in a google search but when you navigate to the page they are now posted anonymously?). For someone who doesn't think formal education and credentials matter, she sure likes mentioning the fact that she is a "doctor and a lawyer" a whole hell of a lot.
I think I've also mentioned it but I work closely with a woman whose six month old died from HiB because he had not yet had a chance to be fully vaccinated. These are real people; real children; who are really dead from illnesses vaccines can and do prevent.
Also, I love the fact that Dr. Heimer seems to advocate for very specific treatments to be used among immunocompromised populations - the use of disease specific Ig treatments. I'd be curious to know (1) whether she could actually explain what that means and how it works (or hell, how vaccines or the immune system works, even in broad terms) and (2) where she thinks these magical treatments come from (psst... here's a hint - you need a bunch of VACCINATED PEOPLE TO DONATE PLASMA.)
I cannot imagine anything more fitting. A second ratefourth rate law school and correspondence "medical school". Where does the 500k in student loans come in?
FTFY
(law schools are divided into 4 tiers. *I* went to a second rate law school. LOL!)
I stand corrected! I am confident your 2nd tier law school education has been more than adequate. I never took the LSAT, much less scored enough to get accepted to Cooley.

Is anyone else reminded of that SNL skit in which Tracy Morgan as Star Jones pretty much only says, "I AM a lawyer?" No matter the topic, she prefaced everything with a reminder that she's a lawyer. Hey Star, what did you think of that movie? "I AM a lawyer and I saw that movie." Star, good morning! "Good morning back to you, and yes, I AM a lawyer."
Okay, this thread is just sad. I have been following Megan's blogs for years. I happen to know that she graduated from COLLEGE when people her age were graduating from high school. I also know that she only applied to one law school...Cooley...because that's where she wanted to go and was very open about it on her blog. Her Facebook page listed TWO schools for her naturopathic degree. It's one thing to attack her position, it's another thing to personally attack her and violate the privacy of her family on this forum. I'm not sure what this thread hopes to accomplish...

Hi Megan! Welcome back
Hey Meg!
So, I guess you can't dispute any of the actual facts, so you make up a "fan" to defend you? That is embarrassing. When will the lies stop?

Yeah. I cropped out her IP (because I respect her privacy and wouldn't want to post personal, identifying information), but it basically just means that the same computer did all of those things.

It hopes to accomplish educating people about vaccinations, the qualifications it takes to call oneself an attorney and a physician, credentialing...

I'll respond for real now. This thread is not a personal attack on you. It's an attack on the falsehoods and lies that you are spreading. Even more than that, it is an attack on Cooley. I am sorry that you feel your privacy has been violated. Everything posted in this thread came from information that you publicly shared. You might want to reconsider your online presence and privacy controls if you feel violated. I assure you that no one here is looking to harm you or your family. We just want to get the truth out there. Your blog comments are heavily moderated, so it is impossible to respond to you there. And honestly, this thread never would have happened had you not created an entire blog post just to call us haters. In fact, no one on this board would even know your name had you never showed up threatening us. We would have discussed your blog post for a few minutes and then promptly forgotten that you exist at all. This thread is a small example of the Streisand effect.

My sister had HiB at 6 mos. It wasn't a good thing. My parents thought she was going to die and she was in the hospital for a very long time. (she was sick before the vaccine was made available)

Hi Megan! Welcome back
So just to be clear, she doesn't understand science, doesn't understand law, and doesn't understand the internet?
MEGAN! You can't change your FB profile and then come all up in here like it was different the whole time. You dig yourself deeper every time you change something you posted and try to act like you didn't.
And btw, it still doesn't say where or if you are actually licensed to practice anything. I'll wait to see if you can expand on this on one of your platforms.
