Anyone buy anything lately? We (I) got fed up with hand washing dishes so we bought this LG dishwasher yesterday: They sold the last unit while we waited so ended up getting the floor model which had a tiny non visible dent. So the manager knocked the price down to $625 from $899!

We were supposed to get the fridge and oven on Saturday, but the fridge was damaged so we just have the oven so far. I love it though! It only took 6 minutes to preheat, as opposed to the 20+ minutes our old oven would take!
My mom gave me a chalkboard canister and a crystal cross for Easter. Useful since I just cracked my coffee canister 2 weeks ago and the cross I did have broke years ago.
I got new bedding about a month ago (all white, hotel style) and I'm in LOVE. I never thought I'd like white but I love how simple and snuggly and cozy romantic it is. H even commented on how great it is.
DS got a new lime shag rug from his room. It's so cushy and soft. Him and DD play on it all the time.
I also want a set of heavy duty solid wood lawn chairs for out by our swingset. I told H to get me some for my birthday so we shall see.

Uhhh, I bought a 2' x 4' piece of chalkboard material to make a board for the pool, but it's not staying here at home (it'll be at the gym), so I don't think that counts.
I lost my mind buying shoes over the weekend, but those aren't really H&G either.
I think the most recent HOME thing we bought was some paint at the SW 40% off sale.
I bought cabinets at Ikea and wood - I'm making a window seat and faux builtins around a large window in our family room (goodbye toy-clutter!) and trimming out my windows. Next week we get measured for real blinds and I get to burn the miniblinds!

It was an expensive month. It wasn't even that much fun since most of these things were necessities and not fun:
Bought stain and had fence stained Had landscaper lay weed barrier and rocks along the side of the house Had landscaper aerate, fertilize, and spray for weeds Bought a new set of glasses from Crate and Barrel (this was long overdue), and a pitcher Bought 2 new family room chairs from Home Decorator Collection to replace the old wobbly ones Bought a new under-the-bathroom-counter-drawer-storage-thing from Bed Bath and Beyond
I still need to buy mulch for the perimeter of the yard and have the carpet cleaned, but I just can't stand to write those checks this month.
We had to buy a new chain saw. We were taking some tree's down yesterday and DH broke the chain. Once he got the chain back on it turns out he killed the motor.

Um, I am a shoeaholic! I wanna see your new shoes!! PIP!
I got these matching brass filigree somethings from an antique store recently - love them! I'm going to use them as plant stands. Anyone have any idea what they are? My mom cleaned them up for me and said they were full of melted candle wax.

Where is the shag rug from? I got one for our LR and am loving it, but I'm not sure how long it will last. Oh, and I am not used to you saying "DS". I love it!
I bought a fleece blanket with birds on it from Marshall's- king size and perfect for the weather now. DH made the bed yesterday and put it on sideways so the birds were sideways. WTF?
I also got a coverlet. Now I need a boxspring cover and a bed skirt. The bed's super high and needs both. Grr.
I also bought a new cordless string trimmer/edger and a blower. My good gas powered edger is a PITA- I can't start it and replacing the string is a nightmare. Plus it's so heavy. The new one does the job and weighs almost nothing. I need to finish weeding my front bed and put some mulch down.

I bought a truckload of mulch and a couple hundred dollars worth of flowers. I bought heartworm and flea prevention meds for doggie and kitty. I printed a coupon for donuts at Krispy Kreme... that's H&G, right?
I bought a dining room set off of Craigslist and fertilizer. I plan to go to Tuesday Morning in a few days and get some random things. I'm really looking forward to it!

This thread makes me want to go shopping like crazy.
I did hit up a few Goodwills (okay a lot of thrifting happening - T-minus 39 days until my sister's wedding and we're still gathering vases for centerpieces lol) and I did buy a really neat big glass vase thing (it's really wide, so I don't consider it a vase) to fill with seasonal stuff and I bought a a jar that was made for some kind of medical swab. That one I'm saving for my sister's BSN graduation. Oh, and yesterday I got a really cute Loft dress for $6. WITH POCKETS. Dresses are better with pockets.

Yes, it's grounded, we "borrowed" our friend's husband (he's an aviation engineer, he re-wired their whole house) who tested if for us in like 30 seconds.
I don't know what the deal is. I had a contractor over for an estimate and asked if he had an outlet tester, and he was like, "I do, but it doesn't tell you if it's grounded. You have to open up the box for that." My friend's husband was like, "No, of course not." This contractor also said the kitchen reno would take six weeks, cost $30k, and need an architect's plans for a simple reno, though, so maybe he just likes making things difficult!
We bought some planters at Lowes for crazy low prices. Like more than 50% off. I think the biggest size was around $14. Lowes markdowns never make sense to me.
We intended to paint them, (this color/size was discounted much more than other colors and we weren't in love with any of them), but it turns out that this color goes really well with our patio table set, so we will probably leave the three that are this color as is. They are big...like 22" across or larger. This size cost less than the size smaller in the same color, but the other pots we got were less for the size smaller.
We also got a couple of the next size down...I think 18" across. I can't decide whether or not to paint them, but I need to decide before I plant them...or maybe I'll go ahead and plant them and paint them next year if they really bother me.
We have the same mailbox! I love it! But I will warn you that it does start to rust within a year, so maybe once you get it you can spray it with some clear rustoleum or something. Our mailbox is covered under in an alcove, and it still happened. But I still love it and it makes me happy.

Lol, we have a bedspread that's a patchwork quilt on one side and a solid floral on the other side. We've had it for like five years. When we were making the bed the other day DH started to put it on with the floral side up. I said, "I like the quilt side better," and switched it. He was all, "I didn't realize they were different." FIVE YEARS!!!

I am not sure what they are - but we had one in our house growing up. It was a pain to polish! We used it as a side table.
chalupa - I know, it was priced pretty reasonably when I was looking for mailboxes last June. It installs really quickly too, except I do remember that the instructions were wrong. It's straight forward and they had some weird nonsense written instead.
raangoli I'm hoping it's just like my existing one - two screws that the backplate just slides over? If I'm really lucky, it'll be a standard size and I can just leave the existing screws in my siding
Actually, you have to put the screws through the mailbox itself (at a slight angle downwards) and that hangs directly on the siding. There is no back plate, just the mailbox itself.
