I am going to a wedding in a couple of weeks, but I've gotten conflicting reports on how formal it will be. One person said "dressy, like church", and another said it's not that formal and I should just wear whatever is comfortable and looks nice... UGH! This is not helpful.
I don't want to show up over dressed, but I don't want to be under dressed either.

6 pm, Friday night, Catholic Church.
See, I was going to wear a dress, but then my mom (who had lunch with the bride last week) said it's not that formal, and as long as I looked nice I would be fine. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN??

I have a new pair of hot pink pumps I was going to pair with it for fun. Not a high heel, only a couple of inches. I don't have any flats because they tend to accentuate my Barney Rubble feet.
I wouldn't want to bother a bride maybe a bridesmaid?
That works too. I just meant someone more involved with the wedding.
I just get this nagging feeling that your mom told you that because she doesn't want you to "waste money" on going out and buying a new dress when you're paying for the divorce and saving up for a place. Or something like that. I dunno. The whole "as long as you look nice you'll be fine" has me skeptical.
Not strapless, but sleeveless which is why I was going to pair it with the cardigan. I'm not sure of the material exactly. It's been in my closet for a while, but it's really flowy (sp?) and pretty. I used it for an Easter dress a while ago.

Thanks you guys!
I wasn't going to go out and buy anything new for this occasion, but I looked in my closet and it seems I have 3 basic groupings: Super casual, Business casual, and too dressy for every day wear.
I wasn't getting clear direction from either my mom or the bride, and was kind of freaking out.

The most amazing thing happened at lunch today. I happened to be at the store where I bought the dress I was talking about wearing, and they had one in the exact same style just different colors. This one is a completely different color, but this is what it looks like. Mine is a white background and has fuscia flowers. I think mine is shorter too, but the top and the fabric are exactly the same. You guys still think it's good? (P.S. I'm having an awful hair day, so ignore that)
