Thanks everyone!!!! Glad to know I am not the only not doing it every night. DS has dry skin, so its probably best to keep at the schedule we have now.
With DD I did it every night to every other. However, I had a ton of time on my hands, she loved it and it was the dead of July and hot has hell. I only used soap like once a week though...it was more of a kill time thing. And when she started solids a 10 minute bath was a lot easier than trying to wipe that mess off of her. Even at 2.5 she still gets very little soap. We still do bath often because it gives me a chance to fold laundry and clean the bathroom while keeping her occupied. Or I'll throw her in our big garden tub while I'm getting ready to go somewhere so she stays occupied.
With DS, nobody got time for that. He gets a bath on Tuesday and Friday lately. One of those "baths" I just dip him in with his sister, rag him off and call it good..ha. He was born in winter and now it rains every damn day lately, so he's not that dirty laying around the house. I will do an extra bath if I notice his butt is looking a little red as a bath prevents rash for us ASAP.
DD has gotten one every night since about 3 mos. She loves them and we haven't had any issues with dry skin. If we get home late though, we have no problem skipping it. It's definitely becoming more of a necessity now that sunscreen is part of the equation though.
Every other day. And I also bath my older kids (3 and 6) every other day except in the summer it is every day because of sand/sunscreen/pool. I think what you are doing is totally fine.
