I just visited Prague for the first time last month and loved it, especially just wandering around because it's so beautiful. The Old Town is gorgeous but I also liked exploring the Mala Strana area and walking along the river where there weren't as many tourists. Also, even if you don't take a tour of the castle the view alone is worth the walk up.
I lived there for two years. There's a ton to see in Prague. What are you interested in? History? Art? Architecture? Beer?
Umm...all of the above I love old buildings, live music, theater, wandering aimlessly around just checking out the neighborhood, etc.
I've seen few things about a pub crawl; since I will be alone I figure that I might as well do one so I can spend the evening drinking with other people.
Language- My czech is limited to the few phrases that overlap with Russian and Croatian, my German is horrid (currently busting my ass to relearn it). I'm not too sure that there is a plethora of Spanish speakers in the Czech Republic so I cant fall back on my spanish skills for communication. Will I be ok with english?
I was there awhile ago around Thanksgiving time. I only want to add that it was pretty darn chilly and I'm from a place with cold winters, so bring warm clothes!!

I prefer to travel when its cold. I've done London in Oct/Nov and Feb, Amsterdam and Paris over Thanksgiving and Zagreb in Oct. I was even crazy enough to sit outside at Wembley stadium in 30 degree weather for a few hours to watch an NFL game. I think I am part penguin!
publius - I wish I had asked your advice before visiting Prague a few months ago!
alleinesein - my husband and I went to Prague with no agenda and inability to speak anything besides English and really enjoyed ourselves! We essentially just walked all over the place--only took the tram to and from the airport, but did get a little sore--and stopped to look at anything that seemed interesting.
The only thing I have to add to publius's reply is that there is currently a neat exhibit on Prague's history in the Castle--definitely worth the nominal admission price.
