Hello!!! How was your weekend? What is on your agenda for today???
QOTD: What was the last new recipe you tried? How did it turn out?
This weekend was fun. We had some friends over on Saturday and yesterday was really relaxing. Today my DH went back to work after being on vacation and I have a lot to do around the house.
QOTD: Now that I have more free time, I am going to try one new recipe a week to mix things up a bit. I am going to try to make homemade bread tomorrow even though it is going to be like a 100ºF here.
Hello! We had a great weekend. Saturday we went to the Taste of Chicago in the afternoon. I finally got my long awaited funnel cake. In the morning I volunteered with a group of younger girls who paint nails for girls with medical conditions or special needs. It was nice to see the organization in action and I'll be going again on Friday. Sunday we had to super clean the apartment. I felt so disgusting afterwards due to the heat!
Today, I have some cleaning to finish up. Then a trip to the laundromat to wash sheets and take care of our washing too. My aunt and uncle are arriving tonight to stay with us for two nights. They were majorly helpful with our move down here. So we offered to them to come stay with us when they are down here for a conference.
QOTD: I haven't really tried that much lately. I've only been cooking dinners for me since DH works late. So usually it's something easy to make and clean up.
Not much on the weekend. Went over to meet my friends son. He was 6 weeks early and sent home from the hospital after only 3 weeks! He is sooo tiny. Today H made me go buy a new computer since this one is probably short lived ( have an 8" netbook that is close to 4 years old).
QOTD: I found a low carb meatloaf recipe that H is fond of. This week I shall be trying a crustless Ricotta tort

Good morning! I'm off today, yay! I have some papers to mark, and I need to finish up all the paperwork for my Uni class (sign and stamp the Scheins). I'm hoping to finish it all up, but I'm still waiting on some late papers from students, grrr. I really feel like emailing them and telling them too bad, but they have been good students all semester.
Today is our 6th wedding anniversary. DH and I are going out to dinner.
QOTD: the last recipe I tried was a chicken recipe from Julia Child. It was super yum.
Morning, nothing much planned here... other than trying to avoid the rain!!! Pilates this evening and some laundry...
QOTD: the last new recipe I can remember doing was for lamb cutlets with redcurrant jelly... YUM!! I've done it a few times since I found it and it gets better each time nearly.

Good Morning! The weekend was pretty quiet. We went over to my in-laws to tell them we are planning to spend Christmas with my family in the US. I was very nervous about that, very worried that FIL would put up a fight -- he's used to dictating everything "family" oriented and getting his way about it. I was pleased that he was fairly okay with the plan to spend this holiday season with my family.
And I started tap class tonight. I had a great time! It's a adult for fun class, so nothing too strenuous, and no performance/review at the end of term. It's been 7 years since my last class and I am out of practice. But it's looking as thought it's going to be fun.
QOTD: Butternut squash soup, and it was a complete and utter failure -- I have no idea what I did, but there was a foul smell to the soup. DH said it smelled like a sour, old, mouldy, musty house.

Hola! Weekend was good, but too busy. Ran a lot of errands and didn't have much down time :-( However, with the start of Ramadan on Thursday or Friday, that is going to change!
QOTD: DH has gotten serious about counting calories, so all dinner recipes are new! Last night, made a skinny baked parmesan, tonight is baked potato soup, and Tuesday is a lighter chicken tikka masala. The chicken parm was fab and only 235 calories, so I'm looking forward to the rest of the recipes!!
Good morning. My weekend was fine..still in the US. I spent Saturday with friends, my mom and SIL at a winery. We drank too much and ate too much . Yesterday was lazy spent by laying at the pool, getting a pedicure and eating pizza and ice cream.
I might go shopping today at the MALL (america!) and have lunch with a friend and then probably laying at the pool some more .
I have mixed feelings about my weekend. On Thursday my mom came up for my birthday. She stayed almost all throughout the weekend. She's an alcoholic and so it was a little bit draining. On the other hand it was fun to go out for dinner and also my new kitten is just making everything better. She is so funny and sweet. Today I did some cleaning and grocery shopping and I have to work a bit on the dissertation.
QOTD: gnocchi with asparagus, arugula and goat cheese. I also made mini pizzas with pita bread yesterday but that was without a recipe.

Saturday involved a swimming pool and then a nice dinner. Sunday was a chilling out and cleaning day.
QOTD: I have not cooked properly in a while due to several factors. One was a lot of traveling. The other is that I'm not wild about standing around an oven or stove in the summertime when it is hot and sunny. Summer hits my brain and then I just want to soak up every second of it by being outside or enjoying the nice weather somehow.
Instead, I will mention the most interesting new thing that I've tried lately which was Egyptian hibiscus tea also called karkadeh.
