Of course we all want to follow our girls at IMTX but I think I've seen other races mentioned.
I'm doing a relay marathon with my family. It's very much a fun run and I don't even want to think about our finishing time. That said I'm running the anchor leg (4.9 mi) and I want to hit sub-7:45 for my own pace, even if it only shows on my garmin.
Our first duathlon is this weekend - it's my husbands first race with "transitions" and he's driving me crazy already. It's a run-bike-run and I've been telling him for weeks to practice and get it sorted out, and now, morning of departure and he's asking 5,264 questions.
That said, I'm excited to take a drive and get out of the city and get my first race of the season out of the way. So long as I don't kill my husband before we get there….

Good luck kams and chw57! This Ironman thing is bananas. So proud of you two!
Good luck to all the other racers too! It's a big weekend.
I signed up for a 5k tomorrow. I'm sitting here playing "guess my time" with some online calculators. Seriously no clue what to expect. Hopefully these legs will move quickly....I need to rush home to watch the IMTX live feed.
I'm totally checked in now, so I'm laying in bed resting during DDs nap time - so nice .
I got to sit with chw57 last night at the banquet! It was so fun! She is just as sweet and beautiful as you can imagine, and she has the best laugh! It was so fun! We did take a pic, but it was so incredibly unflattering of me (she looked beautiful as always), that I actually came home and took a few selfies to be sure that I didn't actually look like the photo suggested, lol. Blow to the ego right now is not ideal .
The weather is amazing, the energy is electric. Hooray!!
They will have some extra live video coverage - I think they said 4 places total, so if you are at your computer you will be able to catch more live footage than just the finish line cam, which is pretty cool!
The bummer is that there are only 2 timing mats on the bike - miles 30 & 56. After 56 is when we turn back to some major headwind, so our splits may reflect that. ETA: now splits are changed to 30 & 70
Thanks for being excited right along with us it really makes it feel that much more special. I have the FSU charm on my running shoes, so you'll al be running right along with me
kams & chw57, you are both loaded into irontrac & I am ready to go!!!! So exciting! I'm so excited for you guys. Enjoy every second & know we'll be cheering. We're so proud of you! In less than 36 hrs, you'll be ironmen.

I'm running a 10K on Sunday. It starts with the Cleveland full and half runners and then we split off at 3 miles, come back and drink beer until the rest of my running friends and family arrive from their longer races . Hoping to PR!

I definitely will! I'm working an event all day tomorrow, so I downloaded the app, specifically to make sure I could receive & give updates.
