I don't know if I love you or hate you right now, but I just had the shift from hell last night, and this is exactly what I needed to reward myself. I feel much better now.
I think I am going to buy this and the matching wallet. What do you think about the shape and size?
I like the shape a lot! I think that size is perfect for everyday stuff. Do you need it to be bigger for kid stuff? I still need to shove diapers & wipes in mine so my bags this size aren't working for me now unless I'm out w/o S.
Yeah, I like the bigger ones for that too, but I want to not have diapers in my purse. LOL.
Ohh, I like that! I actually like the mint color, too. I wish it was less than $100. I'm going to email it to my H and drop some hints. Lol.
I've bought a couple of cute crossbody bags at Target & H&M, if you're not dead set on a fancy leather one?
I thought about Target. I also saw some at Belk a couple of weeks ago that were all on sale and around $80 and under. Different brands, but lots of cute colors. I may go back and grab one.
I got the Southport Avenue Linda in black. A co-worker saw it at the outlet this weekend and said it was fantastic. This is the first time I've bought from the KS outlet but I do have a - gasp- leather Coach Outlet purse that has held up beautifully. It's been three years and it looks brand new.

I have this one in black and it's one of my most faves. BUY IT!!!
OMFG, I cna already see DH rolling his eyes.
ME: "I want this purse." Him: "You already have that in teal." ME: "But I want it in black." HIM: "You have lots of black bags!" Me: "Not in quilted leather..."

Lather, rinse, repeat.
And you can throw in a "but flex said to buuuuuuuy it!" lol

i don't know if i've ever even seen a non-outlet ks bag. is it noticeably better or different?
I've only compared the ones from nordstrom with outlet. You can tell a difference. Stitching, overall leather quality, etc
Don't get me wrong. There is a gorgeous blue tote on the site. But $175 isn't enough of a sale for me. If it were nordstrom quality for that price it would be a deal
There are a bunch of Kate Spade's included in the women/kids sale right now.

What? I have a number of KS bags, bought both in their stores and from their sales online (maybe designed for the outlet, but I honestly don't know), and haven't ever had any issue with quality. My only issue was when I was in Chicago, and the strap broke off of a patent leather bag I'd had for about 6 years (purchased from a KS boutique) at that point. I walked into their store, showed them, and they took it right there to send for repair, no questions asked, no charge. Got it back and it is fine. I've also beaten their nylon diaper bag to hell and back and it looks great, 2 kids/6 years later.
I mean, they're not super fancy $4k bags, but for $175 on sale, they're pretty freaking nice.

I don't know, I think the quality of their bags went downhill though.
I bought a patent leather bag and it's actually cracking. It's only two years old. I can't remember if it's meant to be sold in the outlet stores or what not but maybe it is that's why the quality sucks.
My teal Gold Coast Maryann is doing well but the stitching on one of the handles is coming off. It's an easy fix and I can probably fix it myself but that shit is disappointing.

oh, that would definitely irritate me, and is disappointing. If you're near a store, I'd take it in and see what they say. I haven't noticed any bad wear on my newer bags yet, but if the quality is going downhill in recent years, that would suck.
Moreover, these items appear to be Kate Spade outlet items.
So then obviously Kate Spade isn't required to advertise that they are outlet items. If I see Final Sale on a retail site should I then assume they are always NQP?
No, it says that it's an outlet item on each page.
Look under "DETAILS." A bulletpoint states, "designed for kate spade new york outlet shops."

Not everything. I've seen quite a few of the items in the actual KS store.
I'm not going to click on every single thing, but most of the ones I examined had a bulletpoint under "DETAILS" indicating that they were designed for the outlets.
For the record, I'm certainly not against buying outlet items. I bought two things several weeks ago.
But people should be aware that this is outlet stuff.

I have no idea. LOL.
All I can say is that my cute Kate Spade telephone bag from the outlet totally broke. The strap came off and everything. It's not worth repairing because I didn't pay that much for it.
But that hasn't stopped me from buying my most recent ice cream clutch and bow bag from the outlet.
I think you get what you pay for -- I didn't pay that much, so I don't expect them to last forever.

Hmmmm, the ones I posted said they are designed for the outlets.
Maybe that's why the quality is such shit (used poor materials) or maybe they also got rejected by quality-control? Because those two bags are also sold in the actual stores.
I have this one. DH got it for me from an outlet store before Christmas. It's held up really really well (although it's only been like 5 or 6 months). It's a good size, I would recommend it.
