When the reruns cycle back around to that point in the series I always get sad, even though I know what's coming. And why couldn't they do one more season to clean that mess up? Even a shortened season? Whhyyyy!?!? The fans deserved more closure.
I'm watching the series all the way through again and am on Season 6 too. I keep getting so annoyed; in back to back episodes Luke is like "We need to be HONEST and tell me whenever you talk to Christopher" then "I randomly have a kid and am not going to tell Lorelai about it"
"Not gonna lie; I kind of keep expecting you to post one day that you threw down on someone who clearly had no idea that today was NOT THEIR DAY." ~dontcallmeshirley
I've been recording the episodes and rewatching one each night. DH pointed out how Lorelai and Rory really had such first world problems. I was watching season 3, "Let the Games Begin" and DH asked what Lorelai was mad at her parents about now. I told him that Rory wanted to go to Harvard and they were sure she was a shoe-in even though she hadn't been accepted yet but Grandpa is trying to get her to go to Yale instead.
DH rolled his eyes and said, "Basically another Lorelai first world problem". LOL.
Season 6 blows.
gpw, I liked Logan too. Not loved him, but he wasn't so bad.
I harbor a sad amount of ill will toward Amy Sherman-Palladino for just blowing everything up before she left. The guy that took over at least had the heart to bring things back around for L&L at the end. I was glad Bunheads got cancelled. I watched a few episodes, and it was just such a two-bit wannabe GG.
As frustrated as I was with the last two seasons, I did bawl at the finale. I still do. When Grandpa is telling Lorelai how proud he is of her and Emily is trying to find a way to continue the Friday night dinners....sniff, sniff.
I've never seen this show and I'm positive I need to but every time it's mentioned here I look it up and see that it's not on Netflix/Amazon Prime streaming and then I get super disappointed.
I agree season 6 is the worst. Except for when Jess reappeared. And the dinner scene when they all hash it out in "Friday Night's All Right for Fighting."
That season was good tv, but horrible to the fans. They just fucked everything up for no reason.
Well, no good reason. Popular internet consensus is because ASP and DP had some new show they wanted the CW (or whatever channel it was on) to just write them a blank check for and were told no, they bailed on Gilmore Girls and intentionally fucked up their last season with the show as much as they could, knowing it would be somebody else's mess to clean up.
I also thought the new writers did a commendable job with what they were given in the last season. But there is no way in hell Lane would ever have dated Zach more than once, let alone married him.

I was totally with you until this. What? No. They belonged together.
