my goddaughter (who is also dd3's godmother) turns 16 this week. I am just going to give her money because I know at 16 that is what I would have preferred, but wanted to make it something creative
"sweet 16"
cruising pinterest I saw this, which is cute, but she doesn't really eat too many sweets
so then I saw this, in a candy box.... but just the money...
I don't want to be a fun sucker, but it looks like a PITA to extract and straighten all that money. LOL.
Ha. We did cash for my neice and nephew last Christmas. Rolled and stuffed in water balloons for her and crinkled up in a box filled with fake money for him. We made them work for their money and they enjoyed it according to my mil.
Whenever my parents would ask my brother what he wanted for Christmas/Birthday he would always jokingly say "A suitcase full of cash." One year they actually gave that to him! They got the amount they were going to give to him all in ones so it looked like a ton of money and put it in a suitcase and wrapped it. This might not go over as well without the joke behind it, but I thought it was funny. We got a bunch of funny pictures of him pretending to buy black market dog bones from our dog with a suitcase full of cash.

we would always answer "cash" when my mom would ask that too, one year the first thing I opened was a pair of my own pants. I was like WTF? she had taken all my own clothes, put cash in the pockets and wrapped them up. lol
I was hoping to play on the "Sweet" 16 for this gift

My mom is amazing at this. The two that stand out are once she got a Chinese take-out container and folded the bills to look like fortune cookies, and another time she made a "Presidential yearbook" with cut outs for the money so their faces looked like yearbook photos.

For my HS graduation my grandparents gave me a picture frame with a saying on it that ended in "Make a wish" and to look inside the frame. When I turned it over and took the back off there was a $1000 bill. Very much appreciated and unexpected.
