It was awesome! I really enjoyed it. The story was really imaginative and original. So refreshing. I like Angelina Jolie overall, I think she is an amazing actress but she was truly fantastic as Maleficent. As H and I were leaving, I overheard this little girl in a dead serious voice say, "This really shows Maleficent's side of the story." I about died from the cuteness of it.
I really want to go see it. My son wants to see it,but I not sure. How intense was it? He has seen the Hobbit movies and fine with the orc fight scenes. I heard its really intense and also that its not. He is 4 but seen a ton of Pg movies like Star Wars and Hobbit. That he loves! I would defently take him during the week when not super busy. I don't want to be that parent with the wild child ruining the new movie.

It is not very dark at all. If your son can handle the Hobbit, this will be a piece of cake. The dragon scene at the end might be a little scary but if he's seen the original Sleeping Beauty, then he will be prepared for a dragon. I think...

He loves dragons, anything with a dragon can do no wrong. A robot Jedi Dragon would be the best thing ever in his world. He is out of school next week, maybe I can talk someone into babysitting and have a mom and son day at a matinee.
the twist was obvious from 5,000 miles away. Is this the new standard Disney twist? Sub mother/sister figure for prince?
. But I also hated Oz and Alice in Wonderland, I think Maleficent's style is pretty similar to those.
I would agree. I enjoyed it but the middle is very slow and I also guessed the ending right away. The whole thing seems to me like Disney is trying to make a new Wicked. I was hoping for a much darker story.
