I don't see how it's outrageously vain. Most people have a thing, mine is my lashes. But I buy drugstore shampoo and own one small bag of makeup, a hundred varieties of cosmetics just isn't what I feel like spending money on.
Haha, this thread just reminded me that I want to try this. I just made an appointment to get them done next week. I do have a question though, they last for about a month I'm told, what happens when the month is over? Do they just fall off? Or do you have to get them removed?

They fall off. Some people get the stragglers removed I think.
really? is it worse than putting mascara/makeup on every day?
I don't get how it's any different than any other temporary beauty aid.
It's not more crazy to me than dyeing your hair, or getting highlights.
Like, are bitches with highlights just asking for too damn much? COVER YOUR GRAYS, ONLY. NO NEED FOR DIMENSION YOU VAIN HOOR.
And actually, I think plastic surgery is arguably more vain. Anesthesia.
Well for starters it's a hundred bucks and lasts two weeks. You can get a lot of mascara for a hundred bucks. It's just the dollars and cents that blow(s) my mind. And nicbreeful was saying it's two or three times that where she is! I'm not risking my green eyes for lush lashes via Latisse though, either!

Is there special care you have to use with the extensions like avoiding certain kinds of makeup remover? I'm assuming you can still wear your regular eyeliner right it's not like the lashes will fall out or get messed up with rubbing or pulling on them?
So you know that post about MLisms yesterday, and my contribution was "It's a struggle to spend all my money"? This right here is what I'm talking about! I am completely floored by $100 eyelashes that last two weeks, and then you go back for a $50 touchup. Do people do this year-round? And like a couple of people have posted, if the extensions falling out take your real eyelashes with them, how long do the lashes take to grow back in? So many questions! marina007, that's a gorgeous pic, btw! Not just the lashes, but those lashes are astounding!
That said, I am curious about eyelash dyeing. Has anyone had that done? If so, details, please.
I am a ginger so my eyelashes are virtually invisible. I get them dyed every 4 weeks. It's $25 and worth every cent.

I wear all my regular makeup, but have to make sure I use an oil-free makeup remover. NBD.
