No. There was a pack of 3 tiny dogs running in the road. I kept my eye on them as I approached & 1 just barked at me. I got past them and another ran up on me and bit me at the top of my calf. Owner was cited for letting her dogs run loose and ACS picked up the one that bit me to check for disease. Just left the ER with a tetanus booster & Rx for antibiotics. Dog was running around off the leash? Was the owner walking it? This is bizarre to me, dogs have to be on a leash here. Period.

Yeah, just running loose in the front yard. The owner was cited.

Thanks for the well wishes! Luckily it was punctures vs a big chunk of flesh taken out. Just sore now.

I did the post run pool dip too! My favorite thing about Summer running. I did 5 x 800 this morning and it was 10 seconds slower than the last time I did them in March. Womp womp. BUT, I did them with a 400 jog in between and never stopped running. That is huge for me b/c I sometimes just walk around, drink water , twiddle my thumbs. Basically anything to get a breather. I am excited I have 3 5k's within the next month so I can skip intervals for a while.

It almost makes running in the heat bearable!!

I just do 5ks as speed work.  It is much more effective for me to pay $25 for a race and force myself to run fast

The pretty new shoes are going back.   I swear, my stride is so different at the store. They felt nice at the store, but when I got a few miles in, they were all wrong. By mile 4, my feet just wanted to gtf out of them. I think they're geared a bit to heel strikers, idk, but thankfully I brought a second pair of shoes with me , and changed into those at mile 6, then finished my 12 miler. 

The shoe hunt continues. Ugh. I went in to try the new Kinvaras and the Sayonaras, but I got distracted when they suggested the Adidas. I think I'll go back tomorrow & choose between the two I went in for. I'm sure they'll also be pretty & fun, even if they don't require sunglasses. Lol

I have a sweet new compression sock tan line from my run this morning. And definitely a permanent-sports bra tan line, which is unfortunate because I bought a gorgeous halter dress to wear to a wedding in 2 weeks...

My long runs have sucked so bad lately and I don't know why. I'm not sure it's the heat and humidity, because I can run my 4-5 milers in the afternoons, but when I'm out the door at 7am for the long runs, my legs are bricks. I think a lot of it must be attitude, but it just doesn't feel right either.  Wth?? Ideas, anyone?  It's rather discouraging.

I haven't gone for a long run in 2 weekends. I don't think I'm making it out there today. I woke up semi-hungover/starving and now its too warm.

I finally got myself to the pool for the first time in months.  It was a short workout, but great.

One of my dogs stepped on a bee during a jog the other day and his paw became infected.  He now has to wear a Cone of Shame, poor guy.

I bought so much stuff this weekend, my credit card company contacted me to see if the purchases were all really mine.

The kids and I have been pretty balls to the walls this summer with fun things to do outside (pool), so after today's run, I haven't done much but sit on my @$$ today. It feels so good.

In other news, I think I have plantar fasciitis. Any tips?

Last, DH is taking the lsat tomorrow. Pray that he does well.

Thanks! I'm sad that they have to go bye, but I'm excited to discover a new pair! Lol

As for the backup pair, we used our cars as a water stop, so I was back at my car at mile 6, then we went out for a loop in the other direction.

I just can't get behind pb chocolate gu. I hate the texture of gu...combined with that flavor (that i do like)...ugh. I have to do chomps in some sort of fruity flavor.

1. Not H&F related-  We spent the weekend in Toronto and I realized Thursday night while packing that my passport expired in February- oops. We needed a getaway so badly, I threw every type of ID imaginable in an envelope and went for it. I figured at worst it was a great excuse for missing a few days of work when the US wouldn't let me back in. It was completely uneventful both exiting, and re-entering the country. Phew!

2. Sort of H&F related- I lost my fitbit in Toronto :-(  So I have no idea how many miles we walked, but hoping it was enough to burn off the food and drinks I ate along the way.

This is one of my favorites- I LOVE ginger beer. I also laugh because I get proofed when buying it at the store- guess many people don't understand what it is.
