Hi!! :-) It's Thursday!!! But sadly, it's the Thursday before Ramadan begins, so it's sort of sad. For a month, there is no eating or drinking in public during the day. It's my least favorite time in the ME....
Other than that, just finishing up some stuff at work and waiting for it to be the weekend!! Nothing planned, aside from being very, very lazy :-)
I think the morning posts should continue, if someone is around and wants to post!! :-P I'll try to do it in the morning if I remember :-)
QOTD: I'm both! I grew up with dogs, but currently we have two adorable cats. DH is definitely a cat person, but likes dogs too - especially Corgis and Scottie dogs :-)

Jennybee: What do you mean when you say you cant drink or eat in public? Are all the places closed? Or does it mean you really cant eat in public. Like if you are out, and feel dizzy, can you can pull something out of your purse to drink or eat? How about places that are popular with tourists?
Sorry if this is a stupid question. I have never been to the ME:

You got it - all fast food/restaurants are closed during the day, and you cannot eat or drink in public at all. If you do, you could get fined. If you were dizzy and needed something, I'm not sure what would happen! I know the only exceptions are pregnancy, travel, etc.
The Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset, so in many ME countries, this is what they do so they're not tempted I suppose.
As for tourists, it's just a bad time to visit :-P But there are a few hotels and restaurants located in apartment buildings that remain open during the day.
And grocery stores are open - but no bakery or prepared foods. It's a crazy long month. Worst of all - no alcohol!!!!

I have nothing new to report. I've booked my tickets home for the holidays -- it will be just a month shy of 2 years when I get home and I am so ready for it. And DH has a new schedule and will be working Friday afternoons, so I planning what I will do with the house to myself. I think I may mop.
I like the Good Morning posts, and am tempted to post them, but it's still yesterday most places when it's morning for me. I don't want to jump the day by posting when it's my morning. I think if you want to post a Good Morning go ahead and people will reply if they want.
QOTD: I'm a cat person. I miss my kitty so much. As soon as we can have/afford a pet I am heading to the shelter to find a cat that needs a home. I understand cat; I am still not fluent in dog, as much as my ILs dog tries to teach me. DH is an animal person, leaning toward dog, but he would not mind a cat.
Contrary to my sig, I would have cats if I wasn't worried about them attracting the pythons. I love my beast to death, but she's kind of hard to snuggle with :-( I think most of that comes from me being allergic to dogs north of the equator.
Morning ladies! I just got back from a morning run because it's supposed to be 106 (F) here today, AWESOME. I'm going to lunch with my mom today, a manicure with my best friend and dinner with friends tonight.
I like the morning posts, lets try to keep them going!

We're both cat people. We both like dogs and the "idea of a dog" but the practicality of walking it daily and boarding it whenever we leave town is not something that we want to do.

I think we should keep up the morning posts! Since I'm in the States, everyone else's day is almost over by the time I get up, which is why I haven't done any lately.
QOTD: Cats. I grew up with 3 cats and a dog, and I like big dogs, but at heart I'm a cat person. I like that they're independent, and I can't stand drying off my parents' big old dog 500x / day when it's raining outside. Let's not even discuss what I would think if I actually had to go out and walk him in the rain (my parents have a 2 acre yard with an invisible fence, so we just let him out). DH didn't grow up with animals at all, but he has taken both to my parents' cats and their dog, without a real preference, I think.
BFP1: DD born April 2011 at 34w1d via unplanned c/s due to HELLP, DVT 1 week PP
BFP2: 3/18/12, blighted ovum, natural m/c @ 7w4d
BFP3: DD2 born Feb 2013 at 38w3d via unplanned RCS due to uterine dehiscence
QOTD: I'm genuinely both. I grew up with cats but then fell in love with the dogs that my mom got when I was in college. I was then converted wholeheartedly to a dog person but I also still love cats.
I've been known to sometimes work as a dog walker/behavioral therapist/pet sitter for dogs and I've gotten really good at understanding their psychology. If I had discovered that interest earlier in life, perhaps I would have gone into an animal science career.
SO has never had pets other than a bird, but he leans strongly towards dogs. At some point, it is likely that we will get one when things settle down a bit. I'm happy with either species as long as an animal is good-natured.
QOTD: 100% cat person. I really miss our cat, as does H. He sort of fancies getting a pug at some point in life - his best friend has one that he's basically fallen in love with - but I really really really do not want a dog. We're planning on getting another cat (or two), probably when we're ready to TTC. The house still feels kind of empty without a cat, even after 2.5 years.
Hi ladies. I'm getting ready to go to some Beauty event in the city. I couldn't find anyone to go with but I'm going to anyways!
QOTD: I love cats! Dogs are okay. H likes dogs better but thankfully enjoys cats too. We actually got the news today about the Persian kitten from my grandma. I'm going to pick him up in August when he is 10 weeks. So excited.
Hi! Just back from a whirlwind two weeks that took me all over the place. Now I am back in Paris just in time for the whole city to clear out. Not sure if it will be nice or annoying. Being at the park today with DD with only 2 or 3 other kids was kind of great. I sat on a bench and read a book. We stayed for 3.5 hours. I am usually ready to leave the park after an hour.
DH and I are both dog people. We have already named our future dogs (Beowulf and Pelayo, I'm not afraid of anyone stealing our names). We just need to figure out when in the heck having a dog would make sense since we're apartment-dwellers for the foreseeable future and both love big dogs. We also don't know how to balance traveling and dog-parenting. Having a kid was an easier decision.

QOTD: We both like cats. And we're both pretty allergic. So our second choice would be a dog. Except we feel it would be mean to a dog with our schedule since we wouldn't want to put it in cargo, but we also can't afford to kennel it for weeks at a time. Oddly enough, a child is easier. Our landlord charges exorbitantly for dogs, but nothing for babies. They are also free on planes and allowed to enter restaurants. Babies scream more and are probably equally as messy overall, so why is this the case?
