OMG I want to kick her in the face. You would think that someone in a cat group would maybe catch that most cat people recognize that spaying and neutering is important.
I once got into an argument with a guy that got rid of his teacup yorkie b/c it was getting aggressive. I asked why they didn't have him neutered and he said "how would you like if I cut off your boobs?".
There was so much wrong with that entire situation I just walked away. Our "friendship" never fully recovered.
I hope the cat truly enjoys her magical experience!
She's probably in birthing classes as we speak. We could slut shame her, though, no clue who the father is.
That's okay, I'm sure her owner will still make sure to host a Parisian themed baby shower for her. And we can only assume that the cat will be outfitted in the finest maternity clothes...no Liz Lange for Target for this puss.
Ugh. Maybe flameful- one of my cats was looking a little round around the middle when I brought her in for her spay (she was a 6 month old stray we just took in). The vet felt around to see if she was knocked up (she wasn't) but I would have gone thru with the spay anyway.

Well, clearly you would have had to discuss it with the cat first. It's her body, her decision.

Why is this flameful?
I fully support a woman's right to choose for her cat.

Touche! Although, so I don't sound completely callous, my many googled resources said the cats don't even know/understand that they're pregnant until kittens pop out.
I have some really gross barn cat/pregnancy stories, so I won't share.
I will share a shortened version of this story, though: My roommate brought home a pregnant stray cat. She made a big HUGE deal of wanting to be there for the birth of the kittens. The cat started wanting to nest, so I told roommate that she probably shouldn't go out that night, but she did anyway. Lo, the cat started giving birth. I watched to make sure she and the babies were ok. I called roommate several times before she picked up the phone. She made it just in time to see the mother cat eating the placenta of the last baby. Roommate promptly walked out the door and threw up in the bathroom.

I've laughed for years over this incident.
When I was in 7th grade my cat gave birth under my bed.
My. parents actually did let my cat and my sister's cat each get pregnant once when we were little. It was pretty awesome.. for us. If I weren't so over cats at this point in my life, I'd like to foster a pregnant cat a few years from now so J and E could experience that too. It was not so great for our cats, though. My cat was a terrible mother and basically abandoned her kittens. My sister's cat had 2 out of 4 stillborn and a third died 4 days later. So she took in all 4 of my cat's kittens as her own. Poor Pickles. She was a good cat. My cat was a bitch but I loved her anyway.

ZOMG the mess.
ZOMG the yowling.
No thanks.
The roommate wanted to wait to clean up the birthing box. I just mentioned that 1) fine it was her room, and 2) that it would start smelling in a bit, and that shit was cleaned up pronto.
I still have one of the kittens. He's an awesome cat.
