so Rogaine is clinically proven to help with male pattern baldness, which is probably what your H has (when it thins on top), but it is NOT proven for a receding hairline, which is apparently different...? (yes, my H has researched this)
ironically there was a local news story about a place that does hair tattoos, basically to give the illusion of fuller hair
Another on Team Own It. My H started losing hair in his 20's. He was pretty self-conscious about it at first. He now shaves his head almost daily. I actually like it on him. I definitely think the right haircut can do wonders-- something closely cropped to the head and trimmed up nicely. H has a lot of friends who are in denial or doing silly things to try to prevent it. IMO it's so not worth it.
FI is thinning on top but he cuts his hair really really close to his head so it's not as noticeable. I assume once it gets even thinner he'll probably just shave it like his brothers do. It bothers him every now and then if he sees a picture where it is more noticeable, but he doesn't stress about it daily.
I feel for these guys though. I mean, we can tell them as much as we want that we don't care if they're bald and to own it, but to them it's just a sign of getting older. Just like most husbands/BFs don't notice our wrinkles or whatever and love us the way we are, WE notice them and we see it aging us. Getting old sucks!

haha I know, this is how I feel too. A lot of people talk about societal pressures on women, but I think it's very real for men too and they can definitely feel self conscious about getting older.
