I'm starting a good afternoon/morning/evening (depending on where you are) post. How is everyone? What's everyone up to?

QOTD: A random thing you learned this week?

DH and I both working, switching off time with DD in the living room while the other hides in our home office. Lack of summer camp really sucks. I absolutely need the weekend to work. I hope to be done with everything by early August and take a nice break then.

My QOTD answer. While in Denmark this past week, I learned that the root of the Danish word for Saturday (Lørdag) means "washing day" in Scandinavian languages. Also, I learned that I am totally intrigued by the Danish language, even though it would make no sense for me to invest time in learning it. I bought DD some Danish kids' books and we've been having fun figuring them out.

Good Evening! Saturday was fairly productive -- I cleans the bathrooms, swept, mopped (broke my mop in the process, but for the life of me I do not know how), and made Father Dominic's Texas Moppin' Rolls (cheese, onion and chili flake studded huge dinner rolls) to go with cheesy corn chowder for diner. Ohh, I also changed the sheets, did two loads of laundry, finished my book and planned menus for next week. Tomorrow I am planning on being lazy.

QOTD: There was something I remember commenting to DH about -- that I never made the connection, but I cannot remember what it was. So I'll just go with what my older brother told me, apparently Cadel Evans' riding nickname is "Cuddles." As MIL says, there are many people who could be nicknamed Cuddles, but Cadel Evans is not the first person who springs to mind.

Happy Saturday! I just got back from a morning run to try to beat the heat of the day. My mom and I are going to a farmer's market this morning, laying out by the pool this afternoon and then my B, SIL, and their kids are coming over for dinner. B and SIL and I will probably go out tonight after dinner and leave the kids with my mom .


QOTD: I learned that it hans't rained here in St.Louis, MO since April ;/.

I'm at a Renaissance Faire with H. His idea. It's nice and I'm having some fun.

QOTD: I got a tour of the new Ronald McDonald House in Chicago. I learned about a few things there. It's just such a great resource for families.

It's Sunday by now. But whatever. I had a fabulous week, ended in Zurich where I ate way too much since I was visiting friends who own a restaurant. Which brings me to...

QOTD: I learned that you can take a blood test to help you learn how to best lose weight for your body. I am...confused but intrigued.
