How did you all decide LO was ready? I don't think Max is yet- he doesn't seem to be too bothered when he's wet or dirty, and he only vaguely shows interest. However- sometimes he'll tell me when he's going pee, and will go hide when he's pooping, so I don't know! What were your LO's signs they were ready?
I am ready to scream. We went to my parents' house to celebrate my brothers birthday. We get there and she did great for the first two hours. Then we went outside and she had three accidents! So we moved the party back inside and she had major meltdowns. It doesn't help that she wouldn't eat lunch and was hungry and dinner was taking forever to be done, she didn't take a nap, she stubbed her toe, and Luke was cranky and crying. I felt like we were making such great progress and this was a major step backwards.
And she still hasn't pooped. Usually she's very regular.
This has been the most exhausting parenting day I have had in a long time.
Emerson Kate, born 38w5d on 4/6/12 at 6:02 p.m., 5 lbs 13 oz and 18 3/4 inches. Lucas Matthew, born 39w5d on 4/11/14 at 8:20 a.m., 7 lbs 4 oz and 20 inches.
@alliehound- we thought Emmy was ready because she hides to poop (so she clearly understands when she needs to go) and she tells us, "mama, you need to change my diaper." The later started after we began telling her that having pee and poop in your diaper was yucky and at diaper changes she would say, "ewww gross!"

So we had some progress. She tells me she has to pee, goes to the bathroom but won't sit on the toilet long enough to go pee in it, so she ends up peeing next to the toilet. I have no clue how to get her to actually sit on it and pee.
But family is in town, so we are going out to dinner in a pull up.

Emmy did this too and we started telling her she had to count to ten on the potty. We would count with her to slow her down. That seemed to work.

@beener Don't worry, I felt like C did best when it was just me around with no one else to interrupt. I know in the book it suggested staying at home with no guests (I know it's hard). Christian had a pee and poop accident yesterday when my parents were over looking at my porch light.
@beener can you stay at home for a few days? M did best with me at home for the first several days. Even on day 3, when I left for 20 min just to escape, she had 3 accidents with Scott. We didn't leave the house (except our own backyard) for 6 days. Maybe that would help her??
Well unfortunately (or maybe not, we will see) she is going to my MIL's house tomorrow for the day bc I have people coming over for a small get together (and day drinking!) and didn't want to worry about a toddler. I was worried about this however my MIL is her day care provider when I am working so hopefully this doesn't cause too much of a regression. I can stay home for like the next week and half after that with her so I am not giving up yet!
We did put her in a diaper at night and just before bed she started freaking out and screamed, "I went pee pee in my diaper. Get it outttttt!" So I think that's a good sign that she's finally not ok with a pee diaper (she has told us about poop diapers for the last month or so).

Is anyone going back to work/DC tomorrow or do you really need to take at least the 3rd day off from both? W is definitely showing signs of being ready, but I'm not sure how it will work out if I don't take off. Ideally, I would like to take a few days like kdrake8 suggested, but I'm not sure that's possible. Looking forward to your progress reports over the next few days ang good luck to all.

Kind of. Emmy is at my MIL's house today, who is her daycare provider when I am at work. I'll let you know how it goes

This could have just been mila but seriously... Even when left with Scott, she regressed. She literally had to be with me for all the days, all the time. If I left for 20 min, she pissed everywhere for 20 min.
Once she got the concept down, about day 5 for her, it was fine. We took her out on day 6 or 7 to my MIL's house (she goes there for daycare part time) and she was ok then, but I still stayed there with her.
In the book it says the language being exactly the same is very important (saying the exact same things, asking in the same way, etc). I'm SURE other kids are much more flexible than my kid; this is just what worked for us.

I haven't read the book. Is it long? The practical advise I've gotten from probie experiences has helped in so many other areas, I've just been following the posts. Should I read the book?

It's an e-book and very short. I read it in under an hour. It was super helpful to me, bc I like directions for things and knowing specifics.
I'm thinking I may take her out of school Friday and do it this coming weekend before I return to work. Otherwise the next 3 day weekend won't be until Labor Day

I can email it to you if you PM me your email address.

My DS2 was the same. Even if H only had to watch him for 10 minutes, he'd have an accident without fail.
Even now, when H takes them camping for 1-3 days, I have to remind him a thousand times to give DS2 enough opportunities to go to the toilet. DS2 won't be as reliable alerting H and H has to remind him to go.
I have no idea why this is, but I just wanted to say that it's the case here too!

Emmy had zero pee accidents at home today. We went to the splash park for almost two hours and she had a pee accident there but I am not counting it since there was water flowing everywhere and it made even me want to have an accident
She even made it through a nap without a diaper and was dry!
I went to yoga tonight and came home and she had one of the poo prizes (a cowboy hat from the target dollar bin). DH said she told him she had to go and started to in the living room but he rushed her to the toilet and got it in on time. So progress there, too.
Still doing pull-ups for night until she wakes up dry on a consistent basis.

Christian has went poop in the potty every day so far. I didn't expect this so soon but hell yeahhh lol. He's still having accidents but he's trying so hard. It also doesn't help that I was with him all weekend, mom had him monday and my dad had him today. I fwd my mom the book and she read it today. I just mostly get concerned my dad will get slack because you are constantly having to remind them to tell you if they have to go and praise them.
