My H HATES them with a PASSION! Whenever they are in an episode, he just gives up and leaves and hides in his office with the door shut so he can't hear them. At least in the Eleven episodes, they don't talk near as much.

I hated them with 10, I think in part because it seemed like they were on every 3rd or 4th episode. I like them with 11. I loved the Dalek Asylum episode.

Ugh, I agree. They are so annoying and not even a little bit scary. Garbage bins with laser guns and a vocabulary of about three words. Terrifying. I find the Cybermen tiresome for similar reasons.
I'm so glad New Who created some actually creepy and interesting villains like the Weeping Angels and the Silence.

The Daleks don't actually bother me that much but they are kind of overused. I did like the first episode with the Daleks, I think with Eccleston and Rose and the Dalek had some individuality, I think? I also don't think the Cybermen are all that scary either.
But the Silence piss me off - at least the way Moffat handled them. They were awesome in S6, and then they were just brushed off as part of a religion and no big deal in the Christmas episode of S7. I do love the Weeping Angels; they seem super fascinating.

I'm with you on the ending for the Silence; I much preferred them in S6. But I had a lot of issues with S7 anyway; it's just not a very strong collection of episodes. I'm hoping a new Doctor can turn things around.
I love the Daleks. I think the voice is kind of funny and I like the old-school camp, but they're also scary to me because they're so hard to destroy. ...and now that they can go up stairs...
I've never liked the cybermen, because they're equally cheesy but seem to fall apart if you look at them sideways.
Silence is meh in my book, but the weeping angels are awesome. I think both have been overplayed lately. The classics are classic, so I don't mind them coming back, but having weeping angels and Silence in so many episodes (when they aren't so ubiquitous according to canon) feels like too much coincidence for my taste.
The weeping angels don't scare me a whit, but I think its because I heard soooooooo much about "Don't Blink" before I ever started watching it that any impact they could have made on me was totally removed. I was liking the Silence but felt like they just dumped them at the end with that religion bit.
I always feel like the cybermen would be the scarier villain irl IF they learned to, you know, adapt and evolve a bit? Like, why can't they figure out quiet pistons for their leg functioning and why can't they run yet? Otherwise, its scarier to me to have all emotion/humanity removed and converted into a robot thing rather than just dying via dalek. (Also, the daleks figured out how to levitate so they can manage stairs...but they never figured out that having some sort of opposable hand clamp might be advantageous? Or more than one eye stalk?)

It took decades for the daleks to figure out stairs, we may never see any other advancement there.
(btw, if you have young kids, pick up Shaun the sheep's "party animals" dvd--one of the sheep gets dressed up like a dalek and at one point is just bumping into the bottom step repeatedly. I was the only person in the house who thought it funny).

The Daleks are definitely overplayed - how many times now have they been definitely completely 100% eradicated? But oh wait somehow there are more coming!!!!111 And in shiny new colors!!!!
The very first Weeping Angels episode was great, scary, etc. But somehow a whole planet of them or whatever happens in the 11th doctor's series is not very scary.

I completely agree on the colored Daleks. That was just silly. I'm pretty sure there must be iDalek memes out there...
...and of course there are:
I also agree that the planet full of weeping angels was meh. I'm sure it's cheaper for production, but I'd much rather see more new stuff than just rehashing the old.

I love the angels, so does the kid. She likes to pose in their 'attack' stance and hide just around the corner for one of us to find her. We're supposed to yell and run away, lol.
