Does anyone have a sense for what it might be like around the univ of Chicago on Saturday morning? I need to be at a conference there on Saturday morning. I'm here on business now and staying at the W lakeshore, but I'm thinking about changing my Friday reservation to closer to Midway. If things get really dicey, I might skip the conference.
Anyone know how things are looking in the Wrigleyville area? I live in the Southwest Suburbs and almost never go into the city, but I have an event on Sunday afternoon on Irving Park Rd. It looks like I would have to take surface streets due to highway closure. Any insights?

Not sure about highway closures, I thought it was just LSD & some of 55 maybe, but there's a Cubs game (cross town classic) on Sunday afternoon) so Wrigley will be busy.

I personally would expect Hyde Park to be pretty quiet. The problem will be getting there--LSD will be shut down, and I wouldn't want to try to do the South Shore. There are some hotels in the HP, but they aren't very nice I don't think--unless you can stay at the University Club.

The Stevenson is only closed EAST of the interchange with 90/94 (according to the CPD press release map), so you should be OK as far as road closures go. I would anticipate the most spectacular traffic jam you can imagine.

They said to anticipate "rolling closures" on the expressways as some of the world leaders go to and from hotels or other places.
