You know what though, i do something worse...usually on weekends after i swim, i leave on my wet suit, hair a mess, goggle face, throw a cover up on top (so after a minute i look like ive peed myself) and i go get myself breakfast at the bagel place.
Or i go to the gym, walk in like that, grab a spin bike, then change.

I do it fairly regularly, especially to the grocery story. I've certainly done it for daycare dropoff too. And I love grabbing coffee and hanging out with friends after sweaty runs (especially if we can sit outside and not stink too bad for other coffee drinkers). DH won't run errands after a run but its not about the sweat - he says no running errands commando.
My studio is right in the heart of downtown now, so I end up walking around town running errands after class and am usually sweaty. I am used to it and so is everyone else in town, lol!
When people see me with my hair down and make up on, they are totally thrown off. I think this is why I invest in nice workout gear.
So far it sounds like I'm in the minority who do it daily. It isn't really a choice for me not to do it due to my work/family schedule. I was debating how gross the people I see at daycare think I am.
Um. I do it all the time...we can be gross together.
I'm not stopping at home to change if I need to grab groceries or run errands. And honestly, even after a hot trail run, I'm not disgustingly sweating forever, I drive with the AC cranked or the windows down to speed up the 'dry the sweat' process!

I don't do it often, but that's just because it's not my routine. I have definitely gone to dinner after soccer games and to the grocery store on my way home from Crossfit. It's not normal here, and I'm sure some people side eye me, but I really don't care. Are your fellow daycare parents expats or locals? If expats, they're probably more used to people wearing workout clothes to run errands. If locals, they probably just think this is a weird expat thing you do. Either way, I'm sure you're thinking about it far more than they are

If it makes you feel better, I DGAF what I look like when I pick up A from daycare.

Dubai is about 90% expat, but most of the ones at daycare are European, I feel like that's a stuffy crowd. Even when I wear 'real' clothes I feel like a shlump here.

For me it's not that I'm trying to help out mankind by not having to smell me...it's has more to do with the fact that I feel so nasty that I want to shower, ASAP.

I figured they were expats but didn't want to assume. I amend my conclusion to be that they think you're the schlubby American anyway, so you may as well not stress over it
Do you do it? Does it embarrass you? Do you see others doing it?
Brought to you by me showing up at daycare for like the ninetieth day in a row in soaking wet running clothes.
This is how I show up every day. I'm not embarrassed at all, I'm going to get my workout done when I can and if that means being a sweaty mess a daycare every day, so be it. I also look like this at swim class every Saturday. I typically work out right before and then run DS over to his lesson right after my workout.

My gym is right near everything, so there is no point going home to get clean before heading back out, especially if I do it right after work. I'll typically put a t-shirt on and change out of my sneakers, but I'm most likely still sweating and gross.

I usually bring a t shirt to change in to but it's because I'm in the wring sweat out of my clothes crowd. I will also pack a washcloth in a baggie of ice to wipe myself down with if it's a really gross day.
However, I do not run errands in cycling shorts. Yuck yuck yuck. I bring a skirt that's a little big for me (an old denim skirt) and will put that on over my shorts then shuck my cycling shorts off. That's just asking for ickies to invade IMO. The wearing sweaty cycling shorts I mean, not changing clothes in the parking lot.
I don't, but only because I do all my runs before work around my neighborhood, when things aren't even open. Or if it's the weekend, I live too freaking far from anything to do a quick errand anyway.
That being said, I would totally go out in public all gross and sweaty. Heck, it's summer in Houston, so everyone else is sweaty too!
I do it. I don't care. I've run errands after going for a run all sweaty. I've run errands after leaving swim practice when my hair is all wet/chlorine filled and I've still got my damp suit on under my clothes. I've also wrapped a towel around my waist after a tri, changed my tri shorts for regular workout shorts, and gone out to eat still body marked and sweaty/river watered down.
