I hope this isn't one of those insensitive things to say to someone who just heard about a diagnosis. I apologize if it is. My FIL had the exact same diagnosis. Stage 4 colon cancer that spread to his liver. He went through his treatments and had a series of surgeries to remove the tumors (one of which was right in the middle of his liver). We just received word last night that apparently they got all of the cancer out. So an awesome outcome is definitely possible with this diagnosis. I know very little about this kind of stuff medically, but just wanted to let you know that things could hopefully be okay.

This gives me hope. I'm just wondering what my mom will want to do. She's had so many issues over the past few years. I hope she doesn't just give up. She's 74. She's still in the hospital and pretty doped up, so I'm not sure if the news has hit her yet. I can't wait to see her.
