What age do you think is appropriate to paint your daughter's finger and toe nails?
Addie asks me all the time if I'm painting mine when she's awake. I have to tell her no because I'm afraid of the chemicals in regular polish. I know her toes would be too cute with polish, but I just can't do it yet. Now I have to paint when she's sleeping or else the theatrics start.

I began painting DD's toenails with a kid friendly brand (forget the name and it's in my room where she's sleeping) a few months ago. She asks me constantly, so I began to treat it like a privilege. It's definitely a good incentive at our house for good behavior/manners etc. I'm not above bribing my child! Lol

We used non toxic stuff starting when she was about 6 months. Not regularly but here and there. About 6 months ago we just started using normal polish.

I think the brand I use is Piggy Polish? Its a kid nail polish that doesn't have strong fumes or as many chemicals (or so I read). It takes longer to dry which sucks since she wants to insantly move.
What about polish remover? I guess that bugs me more than the polish itself b/c it seems thinner, like it would absorb into the skin more. LOL.
I know I could let the polish chip off on its own. I'm just thinking if I wanted to remove it for some reason.
I've heard that OPI is fine.
I haven't yet and I don't plan to anytime soon. Not because of her age, but because I my kid can't sit still for five minutes. I remember the first time my mom painted my nails. I think I was around three. She let me pick a very light pink that when on almost clear. My mom always wears fire engine red, so I was really upset that mine didn't show.
We use Piggy paint too. It's mineral based and non toxic. Lily loves getting her nails and toenails painted, I don't do it all the time. It's more of a treat. She sits on the bathroom counter and is so good, she even blows on her nails. They sell 4 packs with mini bottles which are great.
Considering Holden painted Sadie's nails the other day when I took a nap on the couch, I'm gonna say now. I just let it wear off naturally, and since Holden doesn't exactly do a fantastic job, it doesn't take long.
We have done it twice with normal polish. I just wait until it chips off naturally instead of removing it. She thinks it's awesome but it's not something I want to so all the time.

I think A was 1 when I first did it. I used to only paint her nails with Piggy Paint because it was non-toxic, eco friendly, no strong scent, etc. Then Walmart stopped selling Piggy Paint, and that's the only place I could find it locally. Now I use Sally Hansen quick-dry (dixee posted about it above). One coat and it's dried before she even has time to smudge.

Mil painted her toes before the wedding in May, and I've done it one more time since then. Fingers are out for an undetermined amount of time, because P is a thumb sucker.

I took a page out of kdrake8's book and gave it a shot, and she LOVES it. We currently have purple polish, lol. I use the same as dixeedeluxe, the instadry. I let it come off on its own too.
This is the brand I've debated using, but we haven't tried it yet. It's the remover that freaks me out a little (chemical phobe here), but I might just do what charlielove does and let it chip off.

I've done it already bc she asks. I used my Essie and OPI. It only takes a couple of seconds to do her toes bc they're so small and them a blow dry them on cool.
