I'm with Brie, first tri can suck it. Of course I'm happy to be PG blah blah blah, but damn the constant nausea is horrible. Especially at night. I've been a side sleeper my whole life, but for some reason it makes me nauseous when PG. So I wake up, roll on my back, but take forever to fall asleep that way. Once I'm asleep I roll on my side, get nauseous, wake up, rinse and repeat ALL NIGHT LONG. And all my rolling bumps DH so he snores more that usual, so I poke him to stop, so we both are cranky from lack of sleep.
Brie you take Zofran right? Would it help with this? I can tolerate the nausea during the day, but it's brutal at night.
It's definitely more often than anyone I know (I admittedly thought that when I saw your what to wear post) but it's not like you're asking family for money, lol. People spend money differently. That said, it's totally something one of my brothers would say.
My brother gets in BEC territory here with me I think. I know he and his wife have a four figure yearly art budget (they have told me this) and I am like well that makes sense, she's an artist, art if important to them. I'M A MOM AND THIS IS ALL I HAVE.
(kidding, sort of)
ETA: Also my photographer only charges $150 / session for all the rights to the pictures. I think this a big difference from HCOL photographers.
You do have professional photos done more than anyone I know, but I would do it to for that price!! Our newborn photos will be nearly $1k.
timorousbeastie I had to have my DS CIO last night in the MOTN. It was awful and I felt like crap, but he was 1000% his happy self in the morning. And he put himself to sleep MOTN! ((Hugs))

Zofran basically just keeps me from puking--I started it when I hit the point that I was throwing up even plain water. I'm still very nauseous on it, unfortunately.
My parents are coming on Wednesday and DH is going OOT tomorrow until Wednesday night. I'm excited to hang with them but it's sort of weird timing and I majorly have to clean the house beforehand.
Vermont was nice. The babysitter worked out and the wedding was awesome. B waking up at 5:50 a.m. was decidedly less awesome. He NEVER wakes up early so why would he on the one day we need him to sleep in? I think he's cutting his first top tooth.
I am slightly annoyed at my brother. Apparently he asked my mom why I get professional photos of J "every single month." I have gotten:
- hospital newborn pictures - family Christmas card picture of Picture People at 2 months old - 6 month photos - 12 month photos - Christmas mini session at 15 months - 18 month photos - will get 2 year photos
I realize this is a luxury but I don't feel like this is crazy. And I know my brother has no freaking clue but I am especially irritated since his wife is an artist.
I don't think this is at all odd...or maybe I'm odd too?
We've done: -newborn -6 month -Christmas mini session -12 month -15 month mini session - admittedly we only did this because we know the photographer and she gave us the sitting and digital rights for $35 total
We'll do another mini session this Christmas around 19 months and then 2 year pics.

I'm so proud of DS, I was so scared to ST and drop the swaddle all at once and he's doing so good. He slept from 8:30 - 8:00 am last night without any wake ups!
Confession: it kind of makes me sad just a little bit that he doesn't "need" me to fall asleep anymore
Question: sans swaddle, he's been moving around like a mad man. Bumpers? Breathable only? Im mostly worried about him whacking his arm/leg/etc on the bars and it doesn't seem like they offer much protection. When do regular bumpers stop being a suffocation risk?
I lost count how many tantrums M threw today... It was painful. and my patience is wearing thin. I know she's just testing boundaries, but the majority of the tantrums were over fruit snacks and cookies. We don't even have cookies in the house!!
I was able to get 9 loads of laundry done today however, including washing the infant car seat. I figured that should probably be done soon since this week is 37!! Ahh!
Bas keeps loooooosing his mind during bath time, to the point that we keep moving bedtime earlier. Kid, seriously, sitting down in the bath is not going to kill you.
In a moment of truly stellar parenting, we fed ds French fries with ketchup and tricked him into eating steamed carrots by dipping them in ketchup. He also licked a piece of lettuce yesterday, thus exceeding his normal vegetable intake by about 50%.

I'm in the "take all the pictures!" camp. I feel like time is in warp-speed since DS was born and I just want to capture every single moment. There are so many memories that photos can capture/bring to mind (read: when children are 50 and that adorable moment is not in your daily memory bank); if you can afford it, I say, "go for it!."

I hope you both feel better & the first tri flies by!
DS freaked the eff out at bedtime. Turned bright red from crying, snot dripping from his nose, completely inconsolable! He'd had a bath and then we realized it was time to nurse while drying off/putting on pjs. He fell asleep while nursing and then when I went to move him he just flipped his shit! It was so scary! Hopefully it was just a hunger/tired thing. We have his 4 month check up in 5 hours, so there's that, at least.
I feel like every minute between now and next Monday (when I go back to work) is booked solid. I'm looking forward to going back to work and getting into a good routine with DS. I know it'll be rough for a week or two, but I'm excited for the new normal.

DS is up, he's never up now. DH just went in and thinks he had a bad dream. Hoping he falls back asleep. He will be a mess (and so will I) if he doesn't sleep more.

My kids are a mess after spending so much time with my mom. They won't listen and tell me No all the time. I'm having to retrain them from grandma's non-rules. It is so frustrating and makes me really not want to spend time with family.

He's up for the day. DH told him that it's not time up get up yet, so he has to stay in his crib. Thankfully he's quietly playing, but blah! We have a lot to do today including my OB appt, I needed him in a decent mood. I'm not getting him until at least 6:30. I'm so tired already. He's up two hours early!

I really only puked twice, but was constantly nauseous. The unisom/b6 combo really helped me - I did it at night only. That might help you with the added benefit of helping you sleep through the worst of it.
We attempted to go without the swaddle last night. It was horrific. It took 730 to 930 to get them both asleep and then I watched them constantly startle themselves until they woke up at 10. I promptly swaddled them so we could all sleep. It was do awful.
H does not want to use the merlin sleep suit because he said it looks way too hot. Anyone use this in the summer?

At 150/session with rights to the pictures I would be doing it a lot more often!!! We paid nearly $1000 last year for family portraits and got the rights to 10 images on CD and I think 10 prints. Granted, I think she was expensive for even around here and I have found someone cheaper for this year but no where near 150!!
I am patiently (no really) waiting for Season 5 to be on Amazon Prime but if they don't get that sucker up there soon I may have resort to paying for it. Damm you Good Wife.

I was looking for when season 5 would be available on Prime or Hulu and I JUST ACCIDENTALLY READ THE SPOILER.
OMG. OMG.
Dammit, me!
DO NOT SAY a word. Although I think I know it because they made a big deal about it after the season because people were shocked it was actually by choice -if that makes sense.

did you find out when season 5 will be available?
No.
Per the Hulu blog, no timeline on season 5 as of June 2nd. I couldn't find anything about an Amazon Prime timeline either.
If you are looking for something to watch while waiting for Good Wife season 5- try Damages. It is on Prime and good. I am half way through season 1.

Yeah, I did pretty much the same thing. I'm not happy with myself at all. I'm also tempted to be an asshole and spoil it for DH because he has no idea. But I know it would be a dick move so I won't. I'm just so irritated that I know this now, lol.
