H thinks it's about 1100 sq ft, but that excludes the finished basement. We don't really use that for anything but storage and laundry, though. We probably will eventually. It's a house.
Is not big enough a plausible answer lol it is definitely under 500. The whole guest bedroom is taken over by scrapbooking supplies and overstock that we will need when we have a home of our own!
Eta then I read the rest of the thread. Damn I have a big house. I would call it average for my area.
I was thinking that part of the reason the house sizes on this board seemed skewed toward smaller spaces is that it's a relatively young group. I can't remember where you fit on the age spectrum of this board though. Of course, I'm sure it helps that everything is bigger in Texas.

This AND acreage. Some may have smaller homes on bigger plots. That eats up budget.
Yea, it's Texas for sure. I have a bigger lot for living in town but it's not ridiculous big, about .25 acre.
Also, DH and I do skew older in this particular group, 30 and 35. I was living in a 1000 sqft duplex a year and a half ago, when we were in between houses, and a 850 sqft condo before we got married.

I think there are quite a few of us that live in apartments/condos, so that definitely affects the size considering we wouldn't have basements or anything. We're definitely going to outgrow this fast, but I can't make up my mind about wanting to stay here and buy a house or start looking on/after ML for a job somewhere in between our parents. Moving there would cost more for sure so we wouldn't get anything huge, but the pay should be more too. We'll see what happens! I'd love something 1500+ sq ft!
