If you lost weight while bf-ing and ended up below pre-pg weight, when did it happen? 0-3 months, 3-6 months? after 6 months? Did it come back after you weaned?
[br
I weighed myself for the first time 4 wks pp and was one pound below pre pregnancy weight. I gained 19 pounds total.
Okay, I'm back to add one more thing. I do wish I would have counted calories more regularly while nursing. I was just hangry all the time and told myself I could eat because I was nursing. Like I said before, my milk supply would drop when I cut calories, but I probably could have found a middle and I definitely could have made some healthier food choices along the way. I am finally back to eating right and all that this summer and I feel so much better. I probably could have felt this much better while nursing if I would have changed my eating.
Interesting - this is exactly why I won't diet but I didn't consider there might be a threshold that I could eat before dropping my supply. Anyone have an idea of what that might be? I'm still 15 lbs above PP weight 8 weeks out which is way more than with my first child. I'm exercising but not dieting because I'm scared it will drop my supply

Pretty much right away, within 0-3 months. I hovered between 5-10lbs below pre-preg weight the entire year I BFed DS. I had to eat a lot to keep my weight up; if I forgot meals or worked out too often my weight would dip down lower than I was comfortable with.
I gradually returned back to pre-preg weight after weaning and weighed the same (within 2-3lbs) as my original pre-preg weight when I got pregnant with #2 about 7 months after weaning.

I don't know how many calories I am eating since I am doing WW and count points, but it seems to be spot on with the points they gave me. I'm losing steadily but my supply is still all there. It could be that my supply wouldn't be affected by lower calories, but I guess I won't know that...

I lost most of my weight within the first couple weeks. I lost 30 of 45lbs immediately upon giving birth, then another 7lbs or so of water weight. The last 8 hung around until maybe 6 months pp then I was back down to my usual pre pg +/- 3lbs fluctuation.
I gained the weight right back before weaning, but getting knocked up again had something to do with it

I gained 27 with each pregnancy. With Nods I was 5 lbs above my ideal weight of 120 when I got pregnant. I lost most of it really quickly and fit into my normal jeans 10 days after birth. I lost an extra 10 lbs while nursing and was down to 115. I settled there at about 6 months and didn't gain or lose. I didn't wean before I got pregnant again, so I'm not sure if I would have stayed there.
I went under my PP weight at about 8 months, and kept losing until about 1 year. We haven't weaned yet, so I'm not sure what's going to happen to my weight then.
I am not a "loser" while bf, unfortunately. I was back at pre-pg weight after a few weeks, but I only gained 25lbs during pregnancy. It's plateaued now, but I would love to lose a little more! I'm sure my diet doesn't help much, but I feel like I might already be having supply issues so I'm not willing to diet.
I remember reading somewhere online that weight loss/fat burn from bf kicks into high gear around 4-5 months. In this case, I choose to believe what I read on the internets because yeah, that sounds awesome!
I gained between 40-45 pounds and lost 38 pounds in the first nine days pp.
I am BFing but also supplementing and not working out at all so I am curious to see if/when I lose the last few pounds. I must say I have been very pleasantly surprised with how quickly the weight came off.
I was not thrilled with my body/weight when I got pregnant so I will definitely still have some work to do.
I'm not positive my metabolism applies to anyone else, but I would say I lost the most in the 3-6 mo range. I didn't gain a lot during pg, and was down to pp weight and losing add'l around the 3 mo mark. We'll see what happens when J weans and I'm not pg.
I gained 55lbs and was 10lbs overweight to start with.
I lost 25-27 lbs in the first 3 weeks.
This brought me to around 200 lbs.
Since then I have managed to lose 3.5lbs, lol. In 13 weeks.
BUT...I am exercising a lot now and eating clean (but not too little) and have managed to keep the trend downwards. Previously I just kept gaining and losing the same five pounds.

With DS, I was about 20lb below pre-pg weight by 6w. (I was at my heaviest non-pg weight when I got pregnant). The weight loss effects of BF started to wear off around 18m, and I had gained maybe 5-10lbs by the time I got pregnant with DD at 26m.
With DD, I got back to pre-pg weight (but not below) in about the same time frame. Again, the weight started creeping back on between 18m and 2, which was before I fully weaned.
ETA: Even though I lost the weight right away, I actually burned a lot of calories while I was pumping at work. Since my kids effectively reverse cycled, I was still nursing plenty at night and pumping plenty during the day. I think this is unusual, though, and it also meant that I paid no attention to my diet, which was difficult to change once I wasn't burning as many calories.

I lost the pregnancy weight in 2 weeks. I only gained 5 lbs with dd, but I gained 22 lbs with ds. With dd, I slowly gained weight after the first couple of months. The sitting around nursing and giving in to breastfeeding cravings more than made up for whatever calories were burned by making breast milk.
I'm also curious about this, since I haven't lost a pound since I was 3w pp (currently 8w). Fingers crossed that I won't have to live with the last 15 pounds until she weans.
Twins. I haven't lost a lick since 3 weeks pp and am currently 15-17 lb (depending on the day) over my pre-pregnancy weight. My eating is not great, though, and I feel surgically attached to the couch. If I'm not breastfeeding (such as it is -- my supply is low), I'm pumping. I plan to start running again this weekend.
