How long is your commute, including daycare drop off (if applicable)?
At what point does a commute become a deal breaker?
I work 4 days a week, 2 days the commute is 2 hours round trip, and 2.5 hours the other 2 days (with drop off/pick up). My job is otherwise fine but the time spent in the car and transit is really wearing on me. If you were in my shoes would you try to find a new job?
DD just started a new school this week. The new drop-off/pick-up, in addition to bringing DS to daycare, has made my commute is about 2 hours each way now.
My commute was a little over an an hour before this. It's not like I had a lot of extra wiggle-room in my day to begin with, so I'm ready to have a breakdown. Not much advice here, just commiseration. Dh travels during the week, so it's all on me.

OMG, that sounds terrible and you're running on top of that?
45 mins - 1hour each way, not doing drop off. 1hour+ with picking up although DC is kinda on my way. It was fine when I didn't have kid. My home is in good location, so we won't move. I'm looking around for better commute.
About an 1hr, 15 minutes each way. Sometimes longer. So yeah, I'm at 2.5 hours round trip too. It sucks big time. It's really been wearing on me lately.
We're working on relocating to a different state, and at a max my commute would be 15-20 minutes each way. I can't wait for all that "spare time".

I hope things get better soon.
Barely. I woke up at 4am on Tuesday to do some weights and a 6 mile run on the treadmill. I hope to make up the rest of the mileage tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday.
I'm trying to tell myself it's ok to skip workouts until we get this straightened out. But yeah, you know how that goes. It's just adding to my frustration.
I ask to do one thing for myself, one thing, which is to run a few times a week. Is that too much ask?! *-)

90 minutes one-way, door-to-door (includes bus ride and walking). We do dropoff together in the morning and I hitch a ride in the car since the bus stop is right in front of daycare.
I guess 90 minutes is my limit lol.
I am scoping out opportunities closer to home but there aren't many that pay about what I make now, and a significant paycut would not be good for us.

If everyone and their moms didn't have to commute out here every day, it wouldn't be so bad. And on my team, WFH regularly apparently used to be OK, but from what I've heard there was a crackdown on that earlier this year because "the company is providing team members with office space, so it should be used." Logical, right? LOL.

LOL right?!
And LOL @ the company providing office space. You/your company gets charged for that shit... and its a lot, too.
I used to vanpool everyday and I LOVED it, but it gets me back to my area later than I want and I was constantly late picking DD up. Its sad that I was thrilled that my commute only took me 45 minutes after dropping DD off. Its the simple things.

My commute is 30min including the daycare drop off/ pick up (the daycare is 1/2 mile from my house).
I would consider getting a different job. I used to commute into Boston which was about 1-1.5hr from my house with the horrible am/pm traffic on the highway. It really started to get to me being in my car that much. I am much happier now that I have a shorter commute, and a lot less stressed.
I work 4 days one week, five the other. I WFH two days a week. One the days I'm in the office it's 15 minutes in the morning (DH does drop off) and about 40 minutes going home, because of more traffic as well as having to stop at two locations to collect the kids. I can't wait until September when both kids are at the school right up the street from us. I'll be able to drive home and just walk up the street to get both of them from aftercare.
2.5 round trip with drop off/pick up. I only work 1-2 days though and H and I drive together. I'd imagine I wouldn't want to do it if I was driving every day by myself.

About 45 minutes each way with little to no traffic, or 1 hour when I get DD.
I work in the office 2 days a week, and then do my own freelance the other days. My commute was a deal breaker, so I went part time. I just wouldn't have been able to see DD enough, and thankfully, freelance is lucrative enough.
An old post of mine on here when I was pregnant had me asking about taking an opportunity that was 2 hours each way, 2 days/week. I had planned to do it with an overnight in between the 2 days. Was going to bring the baby down with me and a sitter or hire a sitter and everything.
Divine forces intervened and I passed on that opportunity. Now with a real live baby at home, I realize I was crazy pants.
I consider an hour commute each way pretty normal, but a lot is in where you live... I used to do an hour each way on public transportation and now do an hour each way driving. Somedays it sucks so bad and sometimes it's not that big of a deal. We haven't added daycare drop off/pick up in yet, but daycare is a 2 block walk from home so I don't think it will add too much.
Whether to look for a new job based on the commute depends on how many options you have... I don't bother looking because I'm not going to find something that I'd be willing to do that is a shorter commute. Within a few years we plan to completely move out of this metro area, and commute time is certainly one reason on a list of many for why we will do this.
This fall DS will start coming with me to daycare in my building. Commute will probably be 30-35 minutes on average since I'll be able to take the carpool lane. Then, parking and daycare drop off will add another 15-20. So total 45 to 1 hr each way before I sit down at my desk (or get home).
35-40 minutes each way. DD just started full time at a daycare right down the street from us so I'll usually come home first and then walk over there to pick her up.
Thank you for all the responses! I got a call for a job I applied to a few days ago, and have an interview next week so please send me tons of job vibes!! It would cut my commute down to 15 minutes (driving only, no freeways or bus), and includes free, on-site childcare. I really need to nail the interview.

15 minutes. Daycare is on the way to work so the only time added is taking M inside to get him settled, but I'm assuming you're only asking for actual time in the car.
I would be annoyed at 30 minutes & wouldn't do more than 45.
