I set a goal a few months ago that I would do 10 pull-ups in a row by the end of the summer. This morning I did a fit test with my trainer, and I did it! A bunch of strength tests (like max squat, flexibility, broad jump, etc), then 10 pull-ups, followed by 33 push-ups. You guys, I've never been this strong. I worked really hard and I'm proud of myself.
Once a week, I work out with my trainer for half an hour. We do weights and sometimes end with VersaClimber or rowing. Also once a week, I do a group training with my trainer and 3-5 other people (including my trainer's MIL and wife) on the weight room floor for an hour - we do stuff like med ball tosses and use the TRX. Other days, I run or do the stair mill. Usually on days I run I do a planks series if I have time. Sometimes I also do squats, lunges, pull-ups and push ups. I don't have time for my workouts to last for more than 40-45 minutes, so I just squeeze in whatever I can. I usually end up doing push ups when I'm playing with my kids because they're climbing on me anyway. LOL
BTW, I couldn't even do one a year ago. We just slowly worked up to it, using bands and doing eccentric pull-ups (where you very slowly lower yourself down from a pull-up position, wearing a weight around your waist).
Congrats, that is AMAZING! I've been ramping up my training and my goal is to do ONE pullup someday...so the fact that you did 10 is insanely incredible.
